2ft PL set

hi all,

i've just upgraded from my PL light set to a set of T5s. But would like to check on a few things before i do sell my PL set at the pasar malam...

correct me if i'm wrong, basically a light set is functional on 2 things, the ballast and the PL tubes right?

when i went to the light shops, they tell me, as long as the PLs can light up, there's nothing wrong with my ballast. is that true??

coz i upgraded to my T5s after my PLs burned out, and i don't want to be selling to ppl a spoilt PL set. so unless you guys can tell me, that it shouldn't be anything wrong with my ballast, then i'll sell the set... haha..

would appreciate your advise.... or maybe, if you guys think that there's something wrong with my ballast, i'll just sell the shell.. haha..

Lights work with 3 things electricity, balast and the bulb (joke aside). Try using a voltmeter to see if any electricity can pass through if not then your balast is bogus if yes then something is wrong with your bulb.

so you are saying that if it can light up the bulb, then the ballast has no prob right? =)
