A reason for fish swimming on top gasping for air or at the power head is due to low KH.....I think you may need to add some KH buffer......do read up abit more about KH and PH and how to rectify them..... ;)

bro, i am using seachem test kit....i added 12 drops

so 12/6=6

it says must be around 4

means my KH too much?

kH of 6 won't kill fish. My 2 cents~

Yup, agree it won't kill instantly......

I now keep my KH at between 9 to 14 and also perfected other parameters as well. Now my livestock doin very well. When I first started marine, I didn't check KH as well and my KH then was constantly at 6.

What I observe was that the fishes will be gasping for air at the top and also swimming against the powerhead outlet......didn't bother to rectify and end up PT flew out of tank  (I assume it want to get out of the environment) and YT got some disease and died shortly after and my Orange Shoulder got stuck in powerhead inlet

Better do something to your parameters (perfect it) and allow your livestock to live happily then let it suffer and die a slow death......2 cents..... :)

More info on PH, KH, e.t.c., try: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/marine/maintenance/index.htm

Cheers! :D

How's the circulation of water in your tanks. I had the same problem some time ago when a few of my favourite tangs died. Later I found the coral chips in the sump compartment of my overflow system badly choked with slimmy stuff and the return powerhead was also clogged up. I managed to save the other more hardy fishes by cleaning up the powerhead and "flushing" the coral chips (not cleaning them thoroughly to retain the nitrifying bacteria).

Now I make it a point to check them regularly.

My own experience!

cynide fishing??? maybe..... you cant rule out that possibility....

but damsel to test water.... now that is a classic......

how would you like me to put you in my experiments to test if my product works?? :eyebrow:

change water should do the trick.... otherwise... yr filter? your rocks???

when changing water... pls also note to change water at surface... oily crap....

and the bottom... detritus....

everything can change ASAP.... but pls change your fish only when you are sure water has stabilised... ;)
