k, fren..

anemone like some other corals, inflate themselves by taking in water.

after awhile (in anemone case), the water that's in the anemone will

be stale. It will expel this stale water by shrinking..

Anemone balloons due to light (photosynthesis + taking new water)

this expanding n contracting cycle may take abt 5hrs or so..

normal, just leave it, n dun rubba like I know a fren.

too much rubba n no ######, later u got one ###### deprived anemone runnin ard..

I assume u hav normal kinds of anemone.... e.g bubble-tip

wat u do is defrost n deshell a fresh market prawn then cut out a small piece of meat (dependent on its size ) n put near its mouth... it will capture the meat with its tentacles n bring it to its mouth n swallow it eventually.... just make sure that no other crab/prawn/fish can get hold of it n drag it to decompose somewhere...

feeding once a week or once in 2 weeks is sufficient....

i dun recommend overfeeding though excess may be spit out by the anemone... cos the food will be in semi-digested form liao, imagine fishes n other invertebrate dun wan to eat n the meat then decomposes somewhere, bringing ur nitrate sky-high.... bottomline is to underestimate the feeding amt n observe over a period of time the right amt....

If u got veri strong lights, most anemones can make their own food... thus feeding is a supplement in this case... :peace:

if u got a good partner (ie clowns), dun worry, it will take

good care of the anemone. Just monitor if the clown

is feeding the anemone.

decomposing food won't get the nitrate high. should be

the ammonia spike. nitrate in some tank will be damnz

high without a good matured DBS + many many frequently

change of water.

Search for info. on dying anemone. I posted 1 b4 with pic some more.
