SRC Member ong2ah Posted November 4, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted November 4, 2005 Got this idea ..what do u brothers think ?? Is it feasible?? Anyone try it ?? Possible to find a small sump tank that is 1.5 feet or smaller?? The main idea is space conservation... Pico tank idea is great but too unstable i think

thecoralscove
why not? the bigger the sump, the better!! more water volume = more stable
SRC Member valerossi Posted November 23, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted November 23, 2005 1.5 ft tanks with 1 sump?? Is it really 'BO LIAO' I think it's a waste of time to do it.... Mine is a 1.5 ft tank with hang-on filter(small). Did a 10% water change every month...All is good.

SRC Member May&Bruce Posted November 24, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted November 24, 2005 I am doing a 1.5 x 1 x 1 foot tank. I will pump water from the sump of my 5 foot reef tank, so water quality should be perfect. As I wanted to have a hole drilled for a corner overflow i got the tank made by my regular tank maker in Hougang. Cost S$40 in 6mm glass. I got a 18" light from Aqua Star - just white fluro though.....they did not have any white/blue tubes in stock. This will be a crusteacean tank only so top quality lighting is not so important. Quote Real reefs don't have glass bottoms....(...think about it)
