Killer Anemone - Does the anemone eats Clown Fish?

To the seniors here,

Does the anemone eat clown fishes???

was feeding my anemone with prawns one day then i found that one of my clown fish disappeared...it was last seen swimming in the anemone...me and my friends looked ard the tank, the table n floor...but no clown!! it has been 4 hrs now..and i think the anemone ate it.. damm sad

does anyone has similar experiences??

or when feeding the anemone..make sure clown not swimming inside?

now worse...my anemone spit out the prawns i fed it...why? too full?

My anemone ate my fire goby.

I watch as it spit it out 2 days later.

F***. After that, i got rid of all the anemones

in the tank.

I have heard that anemone do eat clownfish. But dun know how true?

Carpet anemones have been known to feed on injured fishes in the fish-tank. Maybe your clown fish was injured? Personally, I have not heard of anemones eating clown fishes.

Considering you posted on the 12th of November, I don't think you'll be able to find the body in your tank. Cleaner shrimps or snails would have eaten the body (if the anemone was not the culprit).

Just one of the mysteries of keeping a marine tank.

My Anemone just ate my 3-4" Red Sea Sailfin. Half of the body in the mouth this morning. Will try to post a pic later for laughs and cries.

I lost 2 Fire goby & 1 clown fish - dunno who eat it too but I have an anemoa.... It spill out some " thread" stuff yesterday.... dunno whether is it the "output"...

Look out for a lump of thread-like-cocoon stuff.. most prob is the skeleton..

Different Anemone has different temperment. Not all anemone are hosted by clowns. All depends on what kind of anemone. Most BTA will not eat clowns, but not unheard of.

Most fishes depends on moonlit to avoid predation in the night, when it is too dark, and ventured near the anemone, it just get stick to the tenticle of the anemone and consumed. Installing a moonlit does help LS to avoid danger.

If the anemone did not like the food or too full, it spit it out whole.

Actually there are better success feeding the kuning (piece Nasi Lemak fish). But once prawn work, it is ok.

They dun really like prawn.
