Power Disruption

Hi all,

My block of flats will be carrying out a maintenance of the electricity switchboards so power will be cut off for 4 hrs.

Will my tank be able to last that 4hrs? I'll only have my skimmer running at that time which is driven by a battery operated pump.

What else do I need to do?

I have a 2ft tank with some polyps, mushrooms, 4 shrimps and 2 fishes.

No problems.

Plus your skimmer using a battery operated pump should generate more than enough oxygen for your tank.

Hi

I have encountered twice of these maintenance of the electricity switchboards for the block. The notice stated the work will be carried out from 10-12am but it always end up the power is only cut off for few mins only. My home security system will inform me when there is a power interruption in my home.

I believe the HDB electrician will do all the routine check first and he will always try to shorten the power cut off time so don't worry some much. Anyway it is still better to provide a battery operated pump. Just in case
