can i use MH on small tank

hi, really like the color of MH can produce (ie 14K), is it ok for me to shine a MH to my small tank? the height from MH to my sand bed is only abt 15" ,

the tank is running with chiller. intend to have some clam and softies / LPS.

if it is OK, what is the suggested watt? and what brand shd i get?

all reconmendations/ suggestions are welcome

i had a 150MH with 4x24w t5 running on a 2x1x1...sand bed less then 12 inch.....

so yeah...its ok....just make sure you have a reliable chiller.....

you got to place softies in shaded area or and not directly under the MH.....but for LPS, it all depends....mine was place in the open but towards the side of the tank not directly under the MH....some acutally colors up quite well....but my focus was SPS and clams didn't have much LPS anyway....

actually 14k for a small tank would be good. was using the dymax clip on and astrulux 14k....

is it good? saw it from recent aquarama show and i personally like it a lot, but found out the price tag is quite EXpensive....

depends on what you want to keep. Watch your water temp with a MH above a small tank - a DIY chiller for a small tank would be a good DIY project for someone......

how much are the dymax lights? They do look good and i could do with one for my 18" nano.....
