SRC Member arcanehacker Posted May 9, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 9, 2006 Just want to know what dried food everyone is feeding. Any strong recommendations? Pellet, flakes.. sinking, slow sinking, floating? I for one use Ocean Nutrition Formula One flake, cyclopeeze, golden pearls. SRC Member arcanehacker Posted May 9, 2006 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 9, 2006 seems like Ocean Nutrition is most reefers' choice. How about other brands? How about the Omega something..forgot the full name. Quote Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth? jervismun
Omega One They are one of the few manufacturers that dare to state their ingredients as: 1. Whole Herring 2. Whole Salmon 3. blah... Ocean Nutrition Formula One only dare to write: 1. Shrimp meal 2. Sardine meal According to a LFS, "meal" means leftovers... sorta like paste in the end. So according to the LFS, Omega One is a more superior product... but again, probably he is just a very good sales person. I feed both brands Quote Tank 60x40x40 Optiwhite Glass Tank Sump Elos 500 w/ Tunze Overflow Protein Skimmer Skimz Kone SK1 Return Pump Hydor Seltz L30 Wavemaker Hydor K1 Illumination 150W + 2 T5 Chiller Arctica 1/5hp w/ Aquabee 1000 Water Top-up Tunze Osmolator Dosing Pumps Grotech 3-Channels Calcium Reactor Deltec PF 501 Computer Aquatronica
jervismun
Another product to consider: Polyp Lab Reef Roid... IMO much better than Argent Cyclopeeze especially if your corals prefer finer particles... perfect for small polyp filter feeders such as my Blue Gorgonia. The polyps react instantly to Reef Roid... where as they usually take a while to react to Cyclopeeze coz the food is coarser. SRC Member Octopuffy Posted May 11, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted May 11, 2006 My fishes don't like Omega One. They always spit out the flakes. They only like Ocean Nutrition Formula 2 flakes. I wonder why... Omega One's flakes smells nicer and fresher to me though.
