Canister filter instead of sump?

Sump is the norm, but was wondering if Eheim biological canister filter can replace the function of a sump?

If the mechanical part needs to be boosted up, what about using an Eheim biological plus a mechnical pump?

Sorry for being lor sor, but basically, I want to know if it is possible to replace sump with canister or canisters filter for a 4 feet tank.

canister can never replace a sump as a sump u have more control and easier maintance. i was in the same situation when i am deciding to use a sump .

it is possible to have a tank with canister

filter. one LFS used to hv 2 canister for their 5 ft

tank.

many bro here use cannister 4 their filtration...but seriously having a sump is definately better...u actually increase the volume of water...which is gd 4 the tank....n remenber in sump equipment always cost cheaper than their hang on counterparts!!!
