Why downgrade keep coral in your 6 footer then sell away your non-reef safe fishes. Settle.

i already did tt. . remove quite a lot of fishes over the weekend. all sell to forum reefers. .

Stingray passed away for unknown reasons.

Today went to buy Aquabee pumps. . . spend almost 1k on Aquabee 5000 x 2 and Aquabee 2000.

Bro, saw that you use the deltec denitrator. Does it really help? I'm using the Pura NitrateLock, when i run through the water with high nitrate, it filtered out the nitrate. But after putting it in the sump with filter bag, i don't see my nitrate level go down.

How bad is the impact of having nitrate level 50 ppm?

i sold away the denitrator already due to lack of space to accomodate it. Gonna build a refugim tank instead with DSB.

I ahve not use the Pure Nitralock before, so can't really comment on the product. There are many ways to bring nitrate level down. For a start, dun feed ur fishes too much. Secondly, dun add any new fishes at the moment.

Can consider investing in a denitrator. Reefdepot does carry the Deltec denitrator.

Results dun come instantly. Maybe use the Nitralock a lil longer n see how. If nitrate still dun drop, then stop using the product lor.

Stingray passed away for unknown reasons.

That's cos they were never meant to be kept in ur setup...same goes for the shovelnose...i hope u..and even the rest on this forum....have learnt from this....don't be rash with your livestock choices...and leave some fishes in the sea where they belong...unless you're prepared to provide them with a suitable environment :(

But after saying that...good luck stockin up the six footer with corals...this should keep u occupied for a bit...depending on how overboard u go on ur coral spending.... ;)

Guys, i don't think i have the ability to fill up the entire tank with red pratas and green bubbles sorta thing. . perhaps will start with one mountain first, and then the other one.

Went to a lfs yesterday, already set my eyes on the true octopus, bi-colour brain, bubbles, frogspawn, blue, green and purple mushrooms.

Hopefully after hooking up the chiller this weekend, as well as changed the return pumps, plus install the lightings, i sld be ready for corals.

i admit i made a lot of errors this month, end up changing 5 reurn pumps!!!! <_< I am quite certain the Aquabee 5000 will be up to my standard.

Refugim postphone till 2-3 weeks later. . . tank maker MIA. :snore:

Bro,

Your big tank will look great with full of corals.

Take your time in stocking up.

That is part of the fun of reefing.

:D

After going a big round, still come back to lps eventually. I still respect you and others out there who can maintain a full-fledged sps tank. Takes time, commitment and money.

Hehehe :D

I have no time to look after my tank.

Frankly speaking my SPS running cost is very minimal compare to other Bros here.

No additive added.

Parameter tested may be every 6 months.

Fish food put on timer.

I am more like a lazy reefer.

Needless say my SPS quality is not as good as others where they put alot of time into it. I envy these people.

You can afford to be lazy considering the equipments you are using. Computerised system and most equipments installed.

u noe how volatile sps is. . not easy to maintain the colours. . really need to cook the sps under 400 watt of MH or something. . . :)

i will stick to the easy corals. . lps. . . tested my flow rate just now. . sld be perfect to accomodate lps.

Although i am an equipment junkie, for changing so many different equipments thruout the months. But what's most spectacular about a reefer's tank is the coral or well being of it. . i wld prob be more impressed with a reefer with low tech equipments but very successful with the corals, rather than someone who spends $10000 on a system without any success with corals.

seen ur tank before. . impressive enuff la. . :P

Found all the necessary pipings except union. <_<

Fire up one of the Aquabee 5000 pump.

Specs:

5000 litres

75 watt

max height : 4.7m

This pump rocks. . . . . .

Aquabee Cheapest in town: Either petmart or me. :P

From my calculation based on the six footer which is equivalent to 1000 litres odd, my turn over rate sld be about 8 times, considering the Aquabee 5000 will give a combined 10000 litres, minus a bit of head loss etc sld be equal to 8000 litres which is pretty healthy.

Seriously recommend this pump for return!!!!!
