jervismun
There are several ways you can tackle the problem if you do not wish to do a bit of rescaping. You can try the Tunze Mini pump, pretty tiny easy to hide within the rockscape blowing the back from left to right (for example). You can also get another Seio on opposite side, this will create a mini hurricane at the center (which is not a bad thing), the flow will then be pushed towards the rockscape. Not a bad solution too. It's up to you in the end... but it's good to "perfect" the water current, then once you are happy with it, then only you start introducing corals according to the condition of the space. SRC Member alien07 Posted August 16, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted August 16, 2006 eh bro, another advice, do not stock up corals that are not easy to maintain in a new tank. cos some lfs just wanna clear corals so sell them to u. IMHO, octo, frogspawn, hammer etc are not really suitable for new tanks. zoos are fine, sunnies are not suitable too as they require meaty foods which would further increase nitrate levels. as your tank is not yet matured, it would be very taxing to the overall system. unless u got a super skimmer. SRC Member alien07 Posted August 17, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted August 17, 2006 What u can do not bro is: 1) try to stop buying corals, cleaning crew etc 2) stop dumping in bact starter etc 3) try to control your water parameters your next phase of your tank is the new tank syndrom = algae boom, so like what soul said, use rowaphos. SRC Member Soul Posted August 17, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted August 17, 2006 deltec runs on 2 pumps for the in-line models btw ... one for feeding water in and the other is the NW pump for generating fine bubbles. Heres a link for u to do ur research lah > Deltec in-liners : http://www.eaquanature.com/store/default.php?cPath=40_61_76 Deltec and other brand hang-ons : http://www.eaquanature.com/store/default.php?cPath=40_60 Anyway after looking at ur sump space and design more closely theres no way u can fit a Deltec in-line model in there. Mostly likely have to install beside your tank out in the open. They are very big skimmers bro, u wanna see actual size goto ReefDepot at upper thomson rd there ... jervismun
Actually the Deltec AP600 is quite appropriate for you tank... but if you plan to upgrade your tank later, you may wanna consider getting a larger model. What I like about the AP600 is the very low energy consumption, 20W. Not too sure about Schuran though... I think you'll better off getting a Deltec (higher resale value and demand too).
