SRC Member ervine Posted October 13, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted October 13, 2006 Hi guys, I was one of those who attended Simon's DIY 3stage DI water purifier. I can't seem to find the thread so I guess I'll just ask here. I remember he mentioned that one way to know if your DI resin has been exhausted is when it starts to segregate into two distinct layers. Is this true? I know the best way is to use a TDS meter but I don't have one. Thanks! Ervine
SRC Member tineng Posted October 13, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted October 13, 2006 nope....the segrating to 2 layers does not shows that the DI resin is exhasted..... best is still TDS meter...its consisder quite cheap now at 40++.... second best is when you start seeing algae growing.... :D alternative, brower a meter for a month or 2....record down the total litre process before TDS show a reading.....from then its will be a very rough gauge when you need to change the resin....
