@ Darryl, hmm from my observation.. zoas multiply rapidly if they are given a flat surface to adhere themself on.. lights and current also affects their growth..

i do add iodine weekly too..

HTH..

btw.. i still cant figure out whats so obscene!

sorry for the lack of updates..

have not been confident showing off my tank as a few zoas turned ugly..

think its due to the flow or lack of light in my tank..

hmm anyway

the recent updates are

-Added a few colonies of sunnies

-Added a mini plate coral

-MAJOR rescape

as u can see im going low on livestock stocking..

still monitoring my paremeters to ensure that nothing goes wrong..

my No3 is about 5-10ppm. and i can say the softies love it!

i have about 3 frags of big mushies available for trading.

will get a picture to boast around abit..

i did the rescape as i find that my tank is too packed with rocks..

and i always fancied the "valley with two towers" scaping..

the rescape was also to simulate the sunnies environment of flowing currents..

My FTS as of 10th April 2007

(PS: Mind the basket, Fragging purpose)

@godzilla: the sieo is facing towards the left rockscape where teh sunnies are.. to simulate strong currents to drift particles to the sunnies..

its amazing how the sunnies open up even with the direct currents

@jervis: yes! those are aall your old liverocks!

haha... cool aye! i need to get maybe 2 more wavemakers to simulate currents around some areas with deadspots!

i use a razor blade and carefully slice their base off the rock...

be sure to prepare cloth and newspapers as the process may be abit gory..

after that i take a spare rock..

place the frag on top of it...

use those industrial green mesh and rubber bands to secure the frag onto it..

u may wanna slice the mushy up a lil to get spare frags..

but my method is more for propogation rather than fragging

I waited for 2-3 days before i inspect the frags..

amazingly the recovery rate is very fast..

here is a pic of the outcome

the left piece isnt lodged onto the rock properly and was folded into half by my carelessness be sure to ensure that ur frags are sitted on top of the rock properly with the "stem" sitted nicely on the rock..

the right piece is beautifully secured onto the rock..

in to the main tank it goes!
