lighting help...

hi all!

need some advise for a suitable lighting for my 1 ft tank.. its a 25l nano tank.. dun seem to be able to find a small one in LFS..

budget it my main concern though... thx in advance!

it really depends on wad u wan to keep and wad kind of equipmemts u hav....for a tank size lyk tis..i suggest u keep some nice littles softies and some small little hard corals...

if u do hav a chiller installed, go for mh...

if nt the minimum u shld go for is PL tubes..

oso take note that if the temp is high, evaporation takes place very fast....

currently my tank host only a leather coral and est 2kg of live rock and 2 inch sea bed

other LS include:

1 anemone

1 tubeworm

1 blue damsel

2 clown fish

1 doctor shrimp

1 camel shrimp

hoping to add in a small colony of zoos and/or jewels.. and a small crocea clam also...

my nano is running on a (i also dunno wat brand n specs) HOB filter and a dynamax protein skimmer XP70 and also a normal small clip on 13W FL light. no chiller yet...

any advise??

definetely not gd enough for the clams, i suggest u get a resun CL 280 to chill down ur tank and a mh...lyk tis ur zoos will colour up nicely and keeping clams shldnt be a prob wif the correct water parameters...

another alternative is using a fan to cool down the temp...but guess it cannt bring down the temp if u decide to use a mh....

give it some thought abt ur tank...cheers and happy reefing!!..

i used to use a 2ft T5 (diyed) and rest it on top my 1ft cube tank. Although it might look weird, it does do justice to my corals. juz a idea for u.
