Sand necessary ?

Bare bottom is ok as it reduces the possibilities of 'stray' sand mess-up if internal circulation pumps are too strong or due to fishes...

If corals are place on it, it may look a bit bare. Not so pleasing to see. So for this case, with sand will be better.

But its solely depends on individual.... B)

A lot of information is available here on the internet and even in SRC on the merits of a sandbed vs barebottom.

Both got pros and cons and both have limitations.

Use the search function and input keywords like DSB, Sandbed, barebottom, NNR etc... a whole wealth of information is there!
