Can experts teach us on LR?

Hello..i'm started this because i tink many of us dunnoe what to expect forming in,on our LRs. Can expert please enlighten us of what to expect to grow in and outside of the LR? Thanks.

LR should always have coralline algae. It's pink to purple underwater but may appear brown or black in the air. The coverage of the coralline algae determines the quality of the rock. More the better but you must balance that with form and size of the rock. Sometimes you'll find macroalgae growing on some spots. The rock will be teeming with other invertebrates and bacteria that you can't spot when buying the rock. Just try to go for unique shapes like arches and plates instead of big boulders.

Agreed wif tanzy.i always choose LR wif a lot of Purple n funny shape n not those that r big boulders.

IMO, big boulder types are recommended for base rocks and to provide better denitrification effects compared to those tonga branch types or thin flat rocks.
