winger24
To be honest.. i never really cycled my tank since i started keeping marine I mean, the cycling process is more or less letting the nitrifying bacterial population grow to a size sufficient or in tandem with whatever that needs to be broken down. If the water is of decent perimeter and the rocks are of good quality, you can almost start off slowly immediately. Quality rocks as in live rocks.. colonized by nitrifying bacterial... NOTHING ELSE!! I usually go for those bare rocks left in darkness but cycled for some time. No worms, no sponges, no nothing else. These hitchhikers more or less die off or poo poo a tonne themselves. But his rocks look neat !
strongh
the new tank first use "Freshwater"runnig tow weekend and cleaning, add nitrifying bacteria. at 20th add seawater 20% and 80% "AB"+ "Red Cross"sea salt to 1.024ppm, an other some live stone is Keepers in "ocean shop"a weekend and very cleaning, (the live stone at 15~20M seabed Extraction is very good). at 25th add fish........ I this started is no problem because i have a good system and live stone, fish health and happy eat

SRC Member aquavista99 Posted November 1, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted November 1, 2007 Very nice footprint on your new tank! I would like to go about 4 ft or 48 inches wide on my next aquarium. Your corals will have lots of room to grow out.
