Thank you for the info :D . It is very true especially for a decent return requirement that is less than 30watts is hard to get.... Can take a pic of the tap so in future when my sump give way, I can consider the tap design?

Will take a pic once i go to collect the sump. Hoping that it can be finished by wed so that I can pick it up and have it installed on thurs.

Piero.

I have come comments on your sump design. As for the last compartment (Refugium) to the return pump (2 x 1 inch piping). Personally i think there will be water gushing down to the bottom of the sump thus creating alot of air bubbles, in this manner your return will be taking in quite a fair bit of microbubbles into the main tank. You might wan to discuss with IAN about it.

Cos for me i had this problem and has to place thise meshed bio filters to reduce the microbubbles.

My Humble opinion.

Some sugesstion.

Understand that there will be detritus build up in this design but this design really helps in reducing microbubbles as there float up almost immediatly after going into the last chamber.

Thanks for sharing. I'm also considering changing my sump. Did not consider including a refugium the last time. Now regret...

U shd add a refugium. My sea fan has been opening very nicely ever since the refugium was added. I can see the pods though not many, running around too.
