Do they?

Today found 1 of my smaller fish near the mouth of the anemone. The fish was feeding well and no sign of injury (due to fight) etc that could have caused the death. Water para are ok too.

:eyeblur:

I used to have just 5 small clownfish with one palm size anemone in a 1FT cube... After 3 weeks, woke up one morning to find all the clownfish disappear into thin air  .. only left the anemone... <_< To this day, dnt knw what happen to the clownfish, but suspect the anemone had something to do with it

It depends on the type of anemone, bubbletip is the safest, while carpet anemone is the most aggressive. However if the fish is already dying, den it'll fall prey to any anemone. Anemone normally leave clownfish alone, as for other fishes, as long as they are healthy should be able to escape from most anemone (well except for carpet which is the most predatory hence most website will not recommend keeping it).

I have a 5" sabae in my 25liter nano. Never bothers any fish. It even helps me clear up any dead livestock by eating them. So my expensive buys never go to waste if they didn't survive. :eyebrow:

Not in my case. I have 1 large Haddonii, 1 small gigantea and another mertensii, and a lot of small fishes. None ever did catch a fish.

very unlikely, unless your fish is too weak to repel its sting.

happy reefing

If a man could beat his own fantasy. Then to only breed in captivity. Then its pointless.

Genesis 1:20

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

like what the other bros mention, carpet got 1 of the stronger stings around.

depend on what kinda fishes u keep.

if those tang like fishes where they maybe drift by the water at nite while sleeping if they got no plc to hide.

then it may stray into the anemone(carpet) and get hook and eaten.

but this situation more likely happen to stronger sting anemones.
