Pearly Jawfish

I got a Pearly Jawfish 3 weeks ago and did slow drip acclimatising over 2 hours before releasing it into the tank. It slipped behind the rocks and never came out. Last week I bought another one thinking the previous Jawfish is probably dead. Same thing, ran hiding in the rocks and never to appear. Anyone keeping Pearly Jawfish also having similar behavior? They can't be dead right?

Why all the venom? Reefing is just a hobby, dude.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is I don't know where is their hideout! I don't see any movement within the rocks and there are no dead bodies on the floor....yet. Keeping my fingers crossed and hope they surface soon :)

Give them time. Live adult brine shrimp is good to initiate feeding. Great if you can gutload your brine shrimp with Selco or something before feeding. The jawfish I have took about a week to begin venturing out and constructing their own burrows. Before that they all huddled in the same burrow and were quite skittish. Now they have more or less settled down.

Always something more important than fish.
