hi, anyone tried using one of battery operated detritus remover.

looks pretty convenient but packaging specifically mentioned that its only for freshwater tanks...

anyone has got comments whether there's a need to remove the visible big lumps of dirt on the liverocks and sandbed. contribute to nitrates???

mine's only a 2 ft tank, may be possible compared to people with 4-6 ft tanks... :D

try using those manual hand pumps types.. cost only $2 or so.. works just as well..

when u say big lumps of dirt, u can either disturb it and let your filter or overflow do the job or u can remove it using the hand pump.
