hi guys.. i like sea horse alot but my tank temp is 31. im not using a chiller and fan. is there any to keep them? do they eat pellets?

You can try tiger tail seahorse (S. comes) they are hardy, readily availlable. No seahorse is unable to take pellets. In capitivity, most reefers train their seahorse to feed on frozen mysis.

thx bro

31C is not healthy for most livestock for any period of time, not recommended to stress your pets out with high temps.

Might want to try a fan and see if it can keep the water temp below 28C.

Or you might want to consider moving the tank to a cooler part of the house, if installing a chiller is not an option.

hi bro, sea horses only feed on live shirmps. I used to kept them many years ago, I have tried froze food and fresh water shrimps but failed. so only salt water live shirmps will be the food source. It is not easy to buy live shirmps from fish farm nowsaday. So you may wish to consider again on keeping such fish. They only can survive without food for max 7 days.

disagree , alot of our fellow reefers managed to get their horsies kickstarted on frozen mysis
