It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever. Marcuss
Hi, Thank you for sharing your DIY method, just picture only still not so clear to explain the idea. U try to use heat exchanger method that borrow from computer cpu right? Here i have few serious concern regarding the method i am not sure your alluminium heat sink touching the water or not, if YES ;-) the alluminium will pollute your tank water especially for NANO tank and after one week of use the heat exchanger will not so efficient due to cover by the detritus film from your tank water and that's is why we try to use RO water for our computer water cooler system and car radiator. If your answer is NO :-)you can try enhance the system by replace the heat sink to copper base because copper are more better heat exchanger compare to alluminium. Nice experiment Bro :-)hope to hear more update from you.
bobiegoh
bro, how does it works? This is a CPU processor cooler....
SRC Member beebeefl Posted May 19, 2009 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 19, 2009 There is a aluminium probe (aluminium will not too easily corrode with SW) but by placing a bag of activated carbon to reduce any harmful xxxxx well this same you tons of money, especially u run those commercial chiller
bobiegoh
Bro, bravo. Very impress innovation. Can your design apply to 3ft tank? How much is the total costs for this setup?
SRC Member razornova Posted May 19, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted May 19, 2009 Hmmm so the bottom part of the heatsink is in contact with water? Then there are alot of choices of commercial CPU coolers to choose from. Quite amazing you managed to reduce the temperature to 14 degrees without TEM module. What was the volume of water being cooled? Flowrate?

SRC Member iskay Posted May 19, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted May 19, 2009 Don't use Copper heat sink if you are running a reef tank! If fish-only tank, it could be a continuous does of copper medication. Quote "Be formless... shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. SRC Member beebeefl Posted May 19, 2009 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 19, 2009 hi,can show pic how TEM connect to charcoal bag to probe on the locklock cover? just place all your activated charcoal -puracarbon is a good choice. into the socks bag from dymax actually not neccessary as i said aluminium is not corrosive. (reason if its is corrosive than we ourselves would have been poison from drink from SIGG bottles liao haha just go n buy a mini tem fridge.... and salvage out the tem and power source and you can have a econmical cooler safe money alot because running on 12v only 2amp
