Chiller + iceprobe

Recommended Posts

hi bros and sis, suddenly i was juz wondering if it is feasible to use both chiller and iceprobe? currently the water for my chiller is out from and return to sump. if i were to use a iceprobe inside the sump oso, will this greatly reduce my chiller's kick-in frequency? cos comparing my chiller's (432W) electricity consumption and iceprob (50W), i dun mind putting in 1-2 iceprobe w controllers to save on my electricity.

my total capacity for my tank is ard 400-420litres exc LR.

juz wondering...has ne one tried this b4? ne tots/suggestion? is the iceprobe redundant? :thanks:

You can put 2 1.5 litres of freezed bottles into your sump...that will keep yr temp to around 26 at least for 3-4hrs a day.

Hi bro, from my understanding, iceprobe is to extract the heat out from your water.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

So if your chiller is kicking in, I dun think iceprobe can do much. Just stick to chiller or remove chiller and installed 2 iceprobes (depend how big your tank is).

Iceprobe will be good for those 20gallons nano without chillers. :)

yep I agree bro yongshun

futher more how long can u use an ice prob??

hmm very troublesome cause some need to drill hole also many would rather fork a bit more cash then get

a chiller hmm :eyebrow: :eyebrow:

just my 2 cents

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.
