thoughts about my tank now...

Pretty please with the progress.

Most of the corals are doing ok ... especially the gonio.

My favorite coral in the tank now.

Once I have added the sand and pass on the spare zoas that I have, I will be focusing on maintaing the tank already. would like the sunflower zoas and some of the nicer ones encrust to cover the entire LR :)... wishingful thinking yeah... but hope that will become a reality.

Next will be to add on more fishes.

still want the following :

- blue neon goby

- yashia goby + Pistol shrimp

- Royal gramma

- splendid leopard wrasse

Peter!!!!! lucky you ask me to check the skimmate...

I really had some wet skimmate already... infact .. 3/4 cup full......

Its not very dark but comparable to my Tunze 9002 skimmate already.

wow... very impressed....

I am now setting it to get a little more dry skimmate....

hehe... so excited.....

I actually set it for wettest skimming just so that you will notice immediately if no skim mate is produced. Adjust the collection cup higher and you will get drier skim mate. Just a note though, the drier the skim mate, the smellier it will be. :eyebrow:

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Equipment List:

Chiller: Artica 1/5HP

Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000

Return Pump: OR3500

Skimmer: Deltec APF600

Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker

Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic

FR: Skimz

FR Pump: Atman AT-104

Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer.

True...if you don't smell it, then it won't smell... :eyebrow:

But it actually depends on how much gunk there is in your tank water...

nice smile.gif when u gettin the neon goby tell me hor i oso wanna get hehe...

so how did u position the mce600 ?

okie dokie. Will keep you posted if I see the N gobies.

MCE? HOB lor... towards the right side. My Filter sock is secured to the right corner too.

hmmm.

just curious what would be the market price for the splendid leopard wrasse?

Sorry Kiko. dun know leh. Anyone has any idea?

I actually set it for wettest skimming just so that you will notice immediately if no skim mate is produced. Adjust the collection cup higher and you will get drier skim mate. Just a note though, the drier the skim mate, the smellier it will be. eyebrow.gif

Noted Peter. Thanks. I notice that the skimmer reaction is very fast. I feed mysis and I see the skimmate 20 - 30 mins later....

Then no skimmate liao. very effective. One problem I have now is that due to the amount of bubbling, my CO2 has gone down by so much that my PH has shot up by at least 0.25

How to lower PH :(

awesome upgrade!.... smile.gifbiggrin.gif u must be feeling high now....can save on dosing additives liao with MCE600...

how do u know yr armour of God and turtle death ate the mysis?..u means u literally saw them swallow up?....i think not all zoas eat mysis rite?....coz i dun c my zoas doing that...hur hur...

Save on dosing? you mean additives like AZ NO3 or bioclean? My ORP unfortunately has dropped by 20 for some reason. hope it pick up after 2 - 3 days.

Yeah I saw the zoas closed with the mysis sticking out.

so i give you the black sand ... and yo give me the spare zoas eyebrow.gif

Can can. if the zoas are still around then :) but common zoas lah.

Yup, the MCE600 is very powerful for a compact skimmer... :eyebrow:

If you try feeding with Henry's Reef Gourmet, you might even see your skimmer overflowing...

What is your PH now? I wouldn't get too worried if it is not over 8.5.

if u can smell the junk...means yr nutrients or the things u feed...is quite jialak...or something is rotting down there...
