Thanks for your compliment, its still quite far from my desired scaping . . . Long long way to go...

Its behaviour is kinda werid to understand as well.

Its polyps would stay open for about 4 hours, and after lunch, it will close as though its hibernating . . . till late in the evening, fully open again.

Lighting definitely arent important at all, very true from the readings found in the net.

Finally, i found the Anemone after 2 weeks!!

Rose Anemone!!

Beautiful bubbles with Deep pink red to faint pinkish white!

Waiting for my pairs of True Perc to host on it!

hehehe

Keeping my fingers Xxxx!

CA/MG seems to be low, ever since the 1st day of cycling...Had been dosing red-sea Parts, but doesnt seems to work at all...

But good news are that levels of PO4 and KH had dropped to the normal level!!

maybe add a bicolour blasto, a cocoworm, a supersun, a red gonio, small flavia

These will "colour" up your tank a bit more.

Really? My experience with other skimmers of other brands, produce only orange/brown based liquid.

If its normal, i m happy! :)

Thanks Ray.

using the same skimmer. for wet skimming, yeah slightly greenish. as ray said, tune to dry skimming, and you'd see them become brownish. just make sure you clean often as dry skimming can really make the cup dirty ...

Woot! Ray, you must be a fellow tunze skimmer user?

Im still tunning the level hoping to obtain a slightly drier skimmate.

However, its still very 'wet' and greenish at the moment. ;)

The smell can be quite disgusting...

Colour of the skimmate depends on the food you feed and the additives you dose in your tank.

My Setup:

3x2x2 tank with IOS

Equipment List:

Chiller: Artica 1/5HP

Chiller Pump: Sicce 4000

Return Pump: OR3500

Skimmer: Deltec APF600

Wavemaker: Tunze Wavebox/2x Hydor K2/SCWD wavemaker

Lights: DElighting 2x150W MH + 2x 39W T5 Atinic

FR: Skimz

FR Pump: Atman AT-104

Tubby ATO, Kalkweisser Reactor with magnetic stirrer.

hehe don't smell. check your water level as well. as i understand if your level is above the mark line on the skimmer, then you would be getting more wet skimmate. just at the line or a little lower, more dry. of course plus the tuning :)

wet skimming is actually good as it is suppose to be able to skim out more stuff...however i'm lazy to clear the collection cup so i tune it to a dryer skim..

yup.. totally miss out this point.. very important to keep the water level consistent.. thats the pain of tunze...

otherwise i'm quite happy with this skimmer.. =]

But with dry skimming, you will need to "scrub" the collection cup neck onces the darkish brown skimmate covers it up.

hehe, hey bro, with dry skimming it makes the up-shaft of the cup really very dirty right, and i thought if you don't clean that it will affect the efficiency of the skimming. so wouldn't that make you clean even more often than wet ? hehe :whistle

The water level is the part that i cannot control. . . unless with auto - topup.

I am running constantly with a 12VDC Coolermaster blue led fan ;)

i need to top up the evaporated water everyday.

Lucky for me, the skimmer is able to fit very nicely in the return pump compartment, without eating into the display tank area :)

yup... but at least i dun need to worry about the skimmer overflowing every 3-4 days.. hahaha...

my collection cup is the stevie collection cup with is smaller then the stock one.. =]
