DIY External Temp Controller

Most of such controllers would specify the rating of the relay used. My temp controller(not of the same brand) states 10A/240AC, good enough for my chiller.

I would still watch out for the internal relay failing eventually (that might be many years later depending on how often the chiller switches on/off). Just want to highlight - I'm not a electrician by trade but if you are not sure of wiring up these devices, please ask before doing.

Important here is safety should be place as higher priority.

With regardless on what we do either in marine or fresh water hobby, never feel shy to ask on things which not sure especially when is dealing with electric equipment.

Any minor mishap may results in major damage.
