Help ID Zoas

No ID then name your own lor hahaha... Essentially, all coral names are given by reefers, if you can't find your answer in any data base, claim it as your own until people tell you otherwise.

The US obsession with fancy names is IMO just hyped up to give value to the zoas.

Why are they nonsense?

mm yeah i guess nonsence isn't really the right word. what terryz said is true. it's just fanciful sprinkling of heavy sugar coating to make the zoas more sellable.

it's just too commercialized for my liking. it's subliminal messages you know? trying to get reefers to see the beauty of the zoas not for their true beauty, but because of all these fancy names.

but i keep my comments to myself. just because i don't like it, i don't go around criticizing. it's just personal views. and since this topic is brought up, i'll just share how i feel about it.

i find it weird when people start threads "help me ID my zoas" it's just a naming game. it's not the true identity of the coral. it's just what humans make it out to be.

it's just like prada, gucci etc. most of the items for sale are just "so what?" in terms of design. If i took a giordano or bossini shirt and label it as gucci. How much more do you think i will be able to sell?

just something to think about ;)

Next time I will name my bleached zoas "unicorn sperm" and put up for bidding lol.

Relax guys, names are names... It is more enjoyable to indulge in your hobby without worrying about how "hot" your corals are :)

91, I have tried to identify my zoas for logging purpose but give up after identifying several .....

I have about 40+ different type of zoas in my tank.... cannot imagine how long its going to take me.....

yeah sometimes it is easy to communicate among reefers/ friends when you know the name... give you a better idea of the value too....

example: sunflower zoas, sunkists..... I think these fall into the easy to identify category.... which you should know when you have them.

But for those common and unknown ones... I just let forget about IDing them.

Good luck bro. Sorry I cannot help on the 2 u have posted.
