Ever encounter such scenario?

Your tank glass are covered with green algae? (and you had cleaned them last night)

Note: im not referring to hairy green algae. There's greenish/purplish algae forming on my rocks. And some green patchy sandy area on the bottom.

Parameters taken as of yesterday evening.

- Lighting duration: 9 hrs T5x06

- NO3 at range of 0~2

- CA at 400

- MG 1300

- PO4 <0.25

- KH 8

Anyone can advise?

Sounds like blue/green Cyanobacteria. Pls do a google & see if it matches and ways to eliminate them.

Mine is nothing compared to that bro. Haha

Today was slightly slightly better.

The above was an image of how it look like when I enter the house.

So far the coralline algae is doing well.

Good coverages of mostly green with purple color all over the place.

A FTS of my tank below before i clear the algae.

Due to very low KH value last week, most of the frags from my frens RTN...sad...

But luckily pull up the value and this pocci frag is starting to turn better with polyps extending.

I do believe it will recover :)

Will reduce 2 tubes tomorrow to test the algae issue.

Any idea if a higher flow rate chiller pump have any effect on the chill rate?

From a purely physic point of things, if water flows through too fast, the chiller just wont have enough time to chill the water down to it set temp i.e. chiller just have to work longer and harder loh

Dosing KH and maintaing at 7.4

CA shot up above detacable range from standard 1ml drip salfiet test kit... need 1.3ml to change color.

Make sure u check ur mag level as well. Cases of either kh or ca shooting up is mainly due to imbalance of either one in the water.
