if lets say, i have a 15 gallon tank, which is about 55 litres, and i dump in 3 litres of freshwater directly into the tank (not the sump) where all the corals and fishes are displayed, would it be bad enough to cause the bacterias and little organisms in the tank to die and cause the tank to become cloudy?

For me I do whatever things in the sump.

I top up about 4litres per day. Just dump all into sump.

Some1 doesn't 1 2 do anything find an excuse,some1 1 2 do something find a mean!

Fluctuation in salinity is the issue here. Why not invest in an auto top off device? Just make sure that your fresh water reservoir has sufficient capacity to last you a week, so that you only have to top up weekly. It also helps to keep the salinity at a stable rate.

if you dump freshwater into the sump won't it kill some of the beneficial bacterias?

Usually the top up is a small % of tank water n the flow rate mixes the water

quite quickly, so it should be ok.

While u top up , u can mix your kalkwasser with your tap water n drip it into

the tank. But do this at night.

Cheers
