SRC Member raydiative Posted June 15, 2010 SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Decided to start a thread to showcase how you can feed your corals using a very low cost method... Step 1: Put the food into a small container.. 7 Quote A man with a reef tank is a man with an empty wallet...
SRC Member raydiative Posted June 15, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Step 2: add some of the tank water... 1 Quote A man with a reef tank is a man with an empty wallet...
SRC Member raydiative Posted June 15, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Step 3: here's a syringe i use... most of them have the same size output nozzle.. I'm using the 5ml or 10ml one... Quote A man with a reef tank is a man with an empty wallet...
SRC Member raydiative Posted June 15, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Step 4: Get a balloon Stick You can go Mc and get it using the below 3 methods: 1) If you're a parent, say you want a balloon for your kid 2) Be thick skin and just ask for a balloon 3) Steal from a kid.. hahah.. jk~ Quote A man with a reef tank is a man with an empty wallet... SRC Member raydiative Posted June 15, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Step 5: joint the balloon stick to the syringe like this... not much force is required... you may like to super glue it too! Quote A man with a reef tank is a man with an empty wallet...
SRC Member raydiative Posted June 15, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Step 6: use the balloon stick to stir the food and water to have an even distribution... Quote A man with a reef tank is a man with an empty wallet...
SRC Member raydiative Posted June 15, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Step 7: suck the food and water up! Quote A man with a reef tank is a man with an empty wallet...
SRC Member raydiative Posted June 15, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Step 8: feed the fishes first so that they will not steal from the corals... the other advantage of feeding the fishes first is to allow the corals to "smell" the food and extend their tentacles out to eat.. my fishes are already trained to eat straight out from the balloon stick... hahaha Quote A man with a reef tank is a man with an empty wallet... SRC Member raydiative Posted June 15, 2010 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 15, 2010 Step 9: once the fishes are happy from eating, feed the corals!!! Quote A man with a reef tank is a man with an empty wallet...

wilsontantw
Brilliant! And I'm one of those who benefitted from your "balloon stick" method. Super efficient and effective method. And my sea squirt is now idling in cabinet. Quote decommissioned 2.5x2x2 Videos: | | Your mind is like a parachute. It only works when it is open. wilsontantw
You mean u actually tried using it?? Haha I gave up on that within 1 day. It's only good to be used to blow detritus off rocks. That is the only reason why I still hold on to it. Next time I go macs, I'm going to tug my boy along, get free balloon sticks!!! Anyway, not to OT too much on a very useful thread. Good effort to help the community! I gotta go find something to contribute too. Damn I feel useless now. 1 Quote decommissioned 2.5x2x2 Videos: | | Your mind is like a parachute. It only works when it is open.
