This is the anemone that host my 2 maroon clowns. I noticed that it has long tentacles and small purple dots are the tips.

I'm rather confused as I searched the web for its exact species.

is the butt red?

The butt is white, well, not 100% pure white but definitely not red.

I hope mine is not bleached. :(

Thanks for your compliments!

Now I have another question, it's about my anemone again. :(

If it is true that mine is a sebae anemone, then I don't think I can keep it well in my tank. My 2"x1"x1" tank is lit with 1 x 55W PL 10,000K e-ballast light. I have a DSB of ~ 4 cm thick. The tank is circulated and filtered by a "Rainbow" hanging filter rated as 1000L/hr. Inside it contains disposable cotton wool as the mechanical filter, and Biohome as the biological filter.

I have 2 maroon clowns and 2 firefishes. I also have a big but ugly mushroom, 2 feather dusters and a tiny suncoral.

I shall post a picture of my tank later tonight, but I truly worry that my sebae will not survive in my tank. It has been moving all over the tank since its arrival. In many ocassions, it toppled and laid upside down. Once, 10% of it got sucked into the inlet of the hanging filter. I had a hard time removing its "tentacles" from the hanging filter.

I am thinking of getting a big bubble tip anemone for my 2 clowns. Apparently the BTA is easier to keep and maroons tend to like them more than the sebae.

What do you think?

Sad to say, my sebae anemone has migrated to the big ocean in the Heavens.

It laid shrivelled this morning, upside-down, oozing white slim through many parts of its body, and caused my tank to be milky. :nuke:

Dear Sebae, the 2 maroons, 2 firefish and I, will miss you. :cry2:

I shall get a BTA for my maroon clowns, since WWM says that sebae are the difficult to keep while BTA are on the other hand, easier on the requirements.

sorry to hear about the mishap.

was the pic you posted just before it died or it was long ago?

Was shocked cos it was looking fine then. Ane usually lets you know for a long while before it melts away.

it was not attack by your LS/equipment rite?
