      yup this is so common now, quite disappointing. Just my thought, in Singapore, it is so easy to get nice and beautiful culture sps why buy frag? The worst part is buy from LFS, frag give a name and sell it as a rare sps.

      Maybe u can try seahare. I am also trying way to eliminate hair algae. Just get a seahare and can see that it is plucking out hair algae to eat. Hopefully will clear in a few weeks time.

      Yup totally agree, i used back the liverock for my tankad I thought I have do a good job of clearing all the hair algae but those hair algae in the hole I am unable to reach it, so it is back to haunt me. =(

  19. Algae outbreak again... in spite of reduced feeding, skimmer upgrade, ROWA, water changes... sigh... this is pushing me to throw in the towel.

      Mayb u can add refugium to grow aglae inside. This is what hppen to me also, doing al the recommanded thing still algae outbreak. So for my new tank I a going to include a refugium.

      Mix with DI water for 6 hrs then pour into the tank, remember to turn off the skimmer.

      hee personelly I think keeping fowlr is more difficult then reef tank. with right equipment, reef tank is not difficult.
