  1. IME, I've used it to cool down my 1.5 x 1.5 x 1ft IOS office tank during the weekends when the A/C is switched off, and it is able to achieve less than 28oC. My office is completely enclosed, so it is definitely warmer than our homes (assuming you open your windows), so I'm surprised that it struggles to cool a 1ft cube. What temperature are you guys running your tanks?
  2. Any issues with micro bubbles getting into the display area? I used to have a similar setup, and I had baffles too, but it didn't help much. Had to put sponge to help get rid of them.
  3. Possible to take a video of the new skimmer's performance?
  4. Is your tank empty right now? If yes, the day you put in your live rocks is the day your cycling starts, assuming you do not have other forms of bio media.
  5. You can try Coral Farm for cured live rocks, but there is really no plug & play live rocks. You still have to go through cycling.
  6. Sounds like a nudibranch problem. If you can take a photo, we can provide a better ID.
  7. As far as I know, they are given different grades according to their body patterns and percentage of white (stripes) that covers the body. More white / unique patterns = more expensive. We are talking about 2 blue notes to 6 blue notes and beyond.
  8. Instead of getting what's popular or the "In" thing right now, why don't you get what you truly like? Personally, I like common clowns that have very reddish, orangey bodies, but they don't bring them in like they used to.
  9. You need to look for your Kurosaki Ichigo in reefing.
  10. Petmart sells black egg crate. Give them a buzz to check on stock availability before heading down.
  11. I had the same thoughts. How much is the entire setup? DE Lighting has 2ft 6 tubes option, so I'm surprised that you have to resort to DIY unless it is significantly more cost effective, etc.
  12. Nano-reef.com has upgraded their forums, so SingNet users are able to surf now without issues so far.

  13. Nice idea on the incorporated dosing chambers...
  14. It really depends on the design of your sump. If you have many baffles in-between, it will help strenghthen your sump. I would take his advise to be on the safe side.
  15. You have to take note that the thread starter's tank is only 2 ft, so tangs are not suitable.
  16. Gemsurf, our forum sponsor, carries the following product that might be of some help.
  17. ADA! Your cabinet seems a little less sturdy though... salt water is a lot heavier than fresh water, not forgetting the weight of the live rocks as well.
  18. Algae X from Fauna Marin works for me, but more importantly, solve the problem by the root cause, which is the source for nutrients.
  19. It is very weird that you can conclude grade 0 sand is impossible, yet continue to ask if it is suitable... There is no issue at all to use grade 0 sand for them.
  20. Someone catch up with them already! They are advancing so fast.
  21. MP10 works fine with 10mm glass thickness.
  22. Wow... the PE is amazing... you are very disciplined on the bio-load as well. Don't see much fishes.
