  1. got some pcs from iwarna's tonga sps shipment last saturday. this is a plate i think this is a gorgeous pc.. sadly has been stning since yesterday. already fragged out what i can save and hopefully will stop the stn soon. *fingers crossed* purple polyp monti.
  2. i think true optic fiber is also a relatively sps to keep. so is the radioactive birdnest.
  3. Hanna more accurate.. but no MG for Hanna. its definitely worth the investment.
  4. are you able to take a pic of the abratonoids in full? want to see how you place it.. mine is placed about 2 inches below the water but the way it branches out, i cant ensure all areas can receive maximum light exposure. mine's not as red as yours now.. but i'm hoping it will turn our nicely eventually. its been about 1 week... fortunately the polyps are extending now and i try not to touch it. although i did knock it down once when placing recent Fiji purchase over the weekend.. yiaks.
  5. Impressive! The kitkat so red... Slurp!!
  6. solid SPS Fiji shipment from iwarna this morning. many colourful stags and acros. i have to stop buying.. polyps not out yet.. fresh in tank.
  7. If rocks are big use epoxy. Small frag rocks still can glue but not for aqua scaping. Can use Portland cement to create your ideal shape but u will need to cure the cement for at least a month.
  8. Check out July TOTM 2012 winner of Ultimate reef. He has similar concept and used tank as a room divider, similar tank size and also 3 side view. his write up http://www.ultimater...TOTM/2012_july/ it is a really nice tank and to accomodate the tank as part of the renovation in our home is a dream come true.
  9. finally got my long awaited Strawberry Shortcake Acro from Australia. Special thanks to Joe_p for making it happen. pics taken with iphone4s.. actual pc dont have blue colour one.. duh..
  10. u moving? then now the old tank i saw at your place gone liao? when your new house ready? moving near kovan? hee... when renovate house make concessions for your tank like water tap and condensor. best if got outgoing drainage. will save you many back breaking hours. how will your new tank concept be like? 5ft with 3 side view?
  11. another DSLR shot with black ice.. it has grown quite alot.
  12. scoly update Apr Now the middle scoly one was hurt about a month back when a plate fell and landed on it. slowing recovering. the fall also caused me to lose a head from the aussie blasto located above the scoly.. heart pain.
  13. LOL.. how u know I'm not lawrence.. you have to breake it up for me cos i dont understand. whats 100mmf2.8? your lens? means the camera is changeable lens with other brand lens? actually im looking for a DSLR camera with macro lens. but need to be compact and light. my friend showed me his camera is so huge and bulky. take great pictures but very inconvenient to bring around. what would you recommend?
  14. i'm not sure if others are feeding after lights out.. i depend on type of corals.. cos for scoly & duncans their tentacles will only come out after lights out. thus its easier for them to catch the food. so i feed after lights out. i have super sun also and their tentacles also seem to be more fiery when lights out. another reason is i have old timer fishes and 2 very kaypoh cleaner shrimps. they will dig my blastos after i feed and that will hurt the corals. the fishes will hover around and snatch from the tentacles also. thats why I prefer at night. but i feed the anemone as and when i like and sometimes i feed once a month. anemone have fast moving tentacles.
  15. bro.. no need to manually feed every day lah.. just during weekends when you sleep later. my lights are out at 2am every night. i usually buy live brine shrimp from LFS on saturdays and using the syringe inject into the scoly when lights out and their tentacles extend. i do it about once a week. next morning you see they are fat fat. one of my scoly also injured previously when a plate fell on it. had some tissue loss but not to the extend of exposing skeleton. my heart sank. but with regular feeding, scoly recovered within a month.
  16. thank you.. very encouraging words. all those back breaking hours, frozen shoulder and sore muscles are worth it liao.
  17. i like your macro pictures. may i know what camera you're using?
  18. coming from you sir.. those words are a big complement. its actually a very small colony and short. branches are a little thick from the base and splits into branches.
  19. with your TLC sure can..with food might recover faster. u try to feed the scoly after lights out with frozen brine shrimp. wash the brine shrimp then add some salt water and put into a syringe. usually after lights out, their tentables will extend.
  20. bro.. no matter what, always got space for good stuff. yesterday bali shipment from Iwarna got 4 pcs of sps. red staghorn - no space also must squeeze out for this pc. :P Abrotanoides - cannot seem to capture the colour very well. this is green body with red tip. challenging pc with high light demand. now is at the top of the tank hot spot where the radion and ATI overlap and combine power. another pc - donnoe the name but look nice. yellow polyps with cream base last pc- pinkish base with brown / red polyps. hoping the polyps will turn red in time. then very nice liao.
  21. yes.. light intensity reduced.. some corals start to brown out then did some adjustments with colours percentage from radion.
  22. i finally managed to get my hands on a friend's DSLR. yippee... must say the pictures are much better than my iphone 4s.. haha.. here's some updated shots.
  23. thank you for your kind words.. still have lots to learn. luckily fellow reefers are real friendly and generous with their advise. this makes the hobby more fun.
