To use marine snow effectively while dripping inside your tank have a bubbles pushing the solution so it will form "snow" like substance on the tank. I use to turn off my skimmer and canister as I have only a 2ft tabk afarid will be suck away/push up bt the filter or skimmer. (remember once off the skimmer it a take sometime for the skimmer to break in again) For long run I will not continue to use Marine snow coz of the high cost. my 2 cent Regards, Moxa

How to take good care of Green Mandarin Fish?
moxa replied to heman's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
I have one red Mandarin Fish for about 5 months+ in my 2ft FOWLR. very difficult to let this cutie grow fat. Have to feed it with live brine shrimp. The smallest or medium size. It can find some of it natural food source from live rock or sand floor however my don't seems to have sufficent food source for it. It better to have a large and established tank before having this cutie inside the tank. IMO. In the morning you can see that these cutie have a very pale color if is stay in the open sand floor. Proabaly "camoflouge" during the night. Regards, Moxa -
Hi Reefer, thanks. As I might be dropping the upgrading to 3FT tank. So does not want to sells off the 1 piece 10KG mountain slope like LR. (Bought at $90+) And my new 3FT 3x2x2 tank is likely going to be setup as fresh water tank. (now only with fresh water for leakage test) going to sells off a large amount of sand (40KG Grade 0 sand 20KG grade 1, 20KG (per carton) RedSed sand , 4KG per bag, 2ft sump unsused shortly) all unopen. Also at the end might tear down my current 2ft tank and sells of LS and the stuff inside. Many thanks Moxa

Hi Bro Siput, Thanks for the advice. I am off to start the cleaning of my new tank and then a water leakage test (leave abt 4 a week) before started to place base LR mix with salt inside it. Is a 80 Gallons 3X2X2 and is a FOWLR. Many thanks. Moxa
-
Hi Reefer, is stacking of live rock right down to the bottom of the tank before adding the level of sand? The corect and better way? Aim is to provide a firm foundation. Afarid that over period if the LR is stack on top of the sand might give way and topple. Many thanks Moxa
