hi guys, I cant seem to find more info regarding backup power to use for nano tanks. Would like to know what sort of backup power do you guys use? Let's say im off to vacation for a week, in order to prevent my tank from crashing if there is power outage. what should i get? Battery operated air pump?

I use chemipure only with filter floss, chucked out all my bioballs, ceramic rings. Probably going to add live rocks rubbles and chaetos soon

Any smart ways to siphon them all out and replace fine sand..without hurting my coral n fish? Or should i transfer them out to a bucket while i do the nasty siphoning. Will it kick start another cycle, if i use those argonite live black sand. Ill snap a picture of my crushedcoral bed later in the day ..if you can help assess if its too coarse.~ Thanks

How long have u had ur plate coral~? I have my plate coral for the 3rd day now, 1st inhabitant of my tank. 1st day it bloated up twice its size, tentacles fully extended. Right now its merely bloated a little. I have not started feeding it yet. What do u feed ur plate coral?

Hi guys, I started my 12G nano tank with some fine crushed coral taken straight from the seabed by my diver mates My question..is it ok to use crushed coral? I've seen alot of threads asking to stay away from crushed coral as sandbed Should i replace it? My tank is already cycled and now house a plate coral and firefish Please advise

Hi, i have got a plate coral I'd just like to know if i am suppose to feed it when lights are ON or OFF? When my lights are off..apparently its tentacles are shrink-ed. When lights are back on. it inflates again Plz advise

Hi all, I bought the JBJ 12G NanoCube less than 2 weeks ago. The white lights are dead!!, however the fans are still running. On random times when i switch it on, i see a quick flash of light. Im assuming the bulb is working fine What should i do with it? Im not sure if the shop i bought from has warranty for it. Ive contacted the shop without a reply. Please advise, on how i can fix it. Anyone who owns the NanoCube came across this problem?

The flowers that you mentioned; i have not seen it on my rocks. Cross-fingers im safe~ As for the mini-crabs, yea i brushed and picked it all out from the rocks b4 putting in my tank Thanks guys for the input. Ill start a new thread if i have further doubts. Sorry to hijack

Hi guys, ive got a question regarding cycling cured and uncured live rock. I am just starting up Apparently i bought some really nice live rock with coraline algae patches all over, from the LFS. It has some mini crabs, tiny flowers n etc inside the rock, I am assuming that these are cured live rocks? My question is; given that it is cured. Do i still need the time to let it sit and cycle the new tank? Its been cycling for a week now, i still see little/no signs of ammonia spike. Nitrite is at ZERO still. Nitrate is at 5. Does this mean that i am ready to put in live stock? Please advise
