Dosen't seem to be able to skim out any dark dirty organic waste. Anyone knows if there anything causing the skimmer to be like this? Or there's actually nothi ng wrong?
-
Recently, my skimmer doesn't seem to produce a lot of dark skim mate. I wonder if this is normal, cos I saw most skimmer does.
The color is light transparent brown similar to a cup of green tea rather than like black coffee which I saw some of the skimmers produces. Is there anything wrong with my skimmer, anyone? Will post pic of skimmer when free.
As promised, pic of skimmer, is there a problem with this?
Closed up view,

Nice tank!!! I fell in love with the refugium!
It will be a good idea for my future setup but i'll not use it as refugium, i'll convert it to a deepwater nano fish setup!
Will deepwater fishes required even lower temp? It will be a challenge to maintain 2 different sets of temp for both display & refug tank.

spray anti-rust? after that can put in water?
Sorry, Thot it's for ur FR. For return pump, some pump provided hose connector.
If not, like cool guy suggested, cable tie will do.

My tank size is 48" x 30" x 18"
System : DIY using wet n dry system with bioballs (simple system)
What abt the lights u use? Looks very clean and neat.

Had a small disaster today. Was on leave and received a call from colleague that my sump is overflowing. Quickly asked her to off my pump and chiong back to office. Turned out that the return pump hose got disconnected from the pump. So it created a little fountain in my sump. Luckily lost only 3 cups of water.
I better get a hose fastener to prevent similar incident from happening.
Yes, better get those, cost only abt 50cents. But better spray some anti-rust on it 1st.

Thanks for the comment ~ tank small lesser scape then got more swimming space Ma ^.^
Shallow tank also easier scrape those hard to reach bottom areas of the glass. Better in term of maintenance imo. How many wave makers u put in there & what r u using? Thks.

Simple and nice scaping. I liked the shallow rimless tank idea.
