  1. Thank you for your support, DIGIMAN !! It is not easy to convince ignorant people that are more into post stamp collecting and showing of to "friends". I rather dwell among the few REAL hobbyist with HEART for living Godly creatures!
  2. Large Bandit will cost you money and headache....But than again if you are a masochist.. And since it is only a fish life you are wasting....... who cares!
  3. We normally have some 80 in stock. Most in SMALLER size as they do much better.......... Should have a tank of their own....and kept is small or larger group.
  4. Well since you asked for it: It goes like this: Hobbyist wants to buy a "fish". goes to the retailer and makes objections to the price... Hmm... retailer talks to the wholesaler or importer,"can,t sell that well anymore DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!" Importer calls on the exporter "You must give me discount or I will buy elsewhere...". Exporter turns to the divers , the most poorest people in the Philippines!! He you!! Better catch more fish against a lower price ... or else... So in other words......Any idea who is to blame in the first place ??? Lucky enough there are also GOOD importers that pay a higher price in order to get top quality fish.. remember quality has a price tag!! I also tend to say " DISCOUNT??? Not with us !! " Discount and high mortality travel in the same bag...
  5. Most important FAST CURRENT and plenty of 02. They live in the breaks and the surfs even on Waikiki. where their is massive current in the water!!
  6. Vanuatu is shipping a great deal of them. We sell them as well but animal friendly collected making them more expensive , but our customers don,t mind.. Most Flame Angels are SHIPPED from Hawaii but NOT COLLECTED at Hawaii. Main source ( still) Marshall islands.. O K Davies only shipper there.... Produced by the hundreds with " ill" collecting practice.. all "juiced".. Other source ( more orange in the center) Christmas Island. These are much bigger in size too but less nice. So I do believe your Flame was poor already when you bought it.
  7. Unlike so many of you might think, Semifasciatus is not rare , but the survival rates are very poor. That is on collecting and travelling..They do less good than for instance watanabei or bellus ,while coming from even somewhat deeper grounds. At drop offs it is typical use to "juice" the fish and the semi's are no exception to the rule.If anybody tells you they are "net caught"the likely mean the net they will use to get the fish packed for you in the shop ,because it is utterly B S !! Then pin the bladder and "up "they go!!Kept in bags with dirty water, high levels of amo and whatever there might be in there ,but not improving the status of the fish... After some 4 or 5 days. getting only re-oxynation twice or so, they reach Manila...in bags with a temperature of 32 centigrade....... NOT A PRETTY SIGHT!!!!! Would it not be great to have somewhat more awareness within the hobby and therefore the hobbyists?
  8. You will have to ask Junkai all due in time... It will take until next year ,together with other rare angels ... But than again.. it will be worth waiting for!!
  9. Within a year from now, bred Bandits Angels will be available on a more or less regular basis. Bred ones are easier in acclimation and keeping. They do much better on food offered then those wild collected ones. A serious matter: Really don, know WHY the F*** you all like to take fish out of the water!! It is VERY HARMFUL to the gills and can leave damage beyond repair!!Not to mention that fish are coldblooded and thus hands feel like red hot! If the water temperature is 26 centigrade ,so is the fish.. Hmm. humans are 36 centigrade so why don,t you try to put your hands in 46 degrees water and try how it feels....In the early 70 'Singapore was so advanced in the Marine Aquarium Hobby and now.... I know plenty of you here don,t like my attitude as being frank and open. I don,t care about you... I care about the fish!!.
  10. First regarding the Ostracion meleagris meleagris. I have not shipped any YET to Junkai ,so when ever bought in Singapore they are NOT mine!! In order to be successful with shipping them ,one needs to detoxify them for three weeks. Right after they are not a problem any longer and will arrive in good health. We have plenty solorensis here ,right in front of our facility. Small is never the problem ,however getting males in small size is giving a headache as they are never pretty...First thing you need in order to be successful in keeping Ostracion Meleagris is STRONG CURRENT !! I Still have some 100 Crown of Thorn cardinals left.. come and get them !!! Regarding posts made in the past by my much appreciate and dearly beloved friend Lemon Peel, I am not going to read it as I might just have all the hair on my back go stand right up.... Not sure , but just in case.. If one writes ###### and Bull one time, I do believe it is within the line of thinking and writing utterly wrong things over and over again.Beside what he writes come from the internet , so hardly any decades of experience of his own to be expected... I could write here now a complete result of years long study and testing Oxymonocanthus longirostris in a Acropora tank .. Let me tell you this but read all first !! Oxymonocanthus DOES NOT EAT Acropora BUT CURE IT!! They eat away the damaged polyps which as we all know ( DO WE ???) grow back in 24 hours only!!. they do eat some of the mucous though.. What they do is just nursing the corals that have been attacked by either Butterflies or for instance Parrot fish....YES the polyps when touched all retreat but than again pieces that have been cured ( obviuous I would say) do much better than others. and I am not the only one telling this !! Well the whole forum will start rolling over me now Lemon Squeeze to start with...What an enjoyable Friday evening this is going to be... But keep in mind not so many years ,we all removed those little crabs from that same Acropora as we believed they were PESTS, Hmm. now we ship them by the hundreds each day over the world.. Next year we are releasing tank bred Centropyge regular but on small scale on the market....so all of you that want to argue with me : Eat your heart out! Johan
  11. Who is your exporter friend? I might be able to assist you in your quest even within Manila
  12. Th reason is very simple. You buy at Cartimar and that is the national Dumpster for left overs.. All fish NOT accepted by the exporters end up there. A FULL BIG BAG with some 40 or 50 fishes brings a 100 peso ( US 2,50)... So there you have the reason why...... Beside that , I would not buy it in Manila. the water you have over there comes ALL from Cavite and is LOADED with Brooklynella and Cryto Sensitive species like these simply will parish away... Sorry if you want our fish ,you have to come to Mactan Island www.spectacularmarinetreasures.com Cheers, Johan
  13. Thank you ever so kind. I would like to suggest you to go ASAP to Junkai and Victor for some goodies shipped yesterday .. You might not be to late.. Most semifasciatus are send from manila.. Beside Junakai and Victor I do not know ANY importer in Singapore thaat does not always ask for long term credits and BIG discounts.. no wonder that the S*** fish end up where you are.. Some shippers here send mandarin fish fro US$ 0,60 !! I mean.. there is no profit and only pitiful fish with empty bellies.. Before you start asking... we ONLY deal with Irwana!!
  14. One more person here is "wrong" I am feeling at home at last.. finally I found someone equal to me haha.. . Jacky and Johan AKA the " Wrong Brothers".....
  15. Genicanthus semifasciatus comes from Aparri ,same place as the C. venusta ... more females than males. 35/50 meters depth.. Needs a lot of care when they come in... Most of them are "juiced" as the majority of divers there use that technique..... We rather do it in a more animal friendly way. it pays off at the end as the quality is much better and.. they accept food!! We have plenty Pseudoanthias ventralis ventralis and flavoguttatus ( send some yesterday to Singapore..
  16. Well what about this then: in then old days ( 30 years ago) we all learned that Centropyge venusta only occurred around Taiwan.. Hmm. We collected them now by the HUNDREDS at Aparri in the Philippines and now.. yes indeed ship them to Taipei on a weekly basis.. What can books tell me, if I can see things with my one eyes??
  17. First I have not cast the first stone ,you did . As a hobbyist you dare to step on my turf as a professional and even the collector of said species! Writing : "Suppliers can tell what ever they want.... and so on..ARROGANCE TO THE TOP !!!What do you know of the origin of the fish. while looking ONLY at your aquarium?? Once more there are NO Rusty Angels to be found in the VERY remote place we collect on a DAILY basis BOTH Loricula and shepardi angels. These two DO crossbreed !! We even get C. multicolor there.. Looking at the places we get Rusty Angels and the Shepardi it is like telling me that Penguins and polar bear can cross breed too! While we all know that one lives on the Antarctic and the other at the North Pole. Perhaps you take me for a silly Philippino, well I am from Europe. I rest my case Your not in my league ,and for sure not my cup of tea..... And your punch line "I am impressed that is.until now." Coming from your mouth,I take as a compliment.. Because you can fool others but NOT IMPRESS ME!!
  18. Well it is about time that an exporter and expert is giving comments on the utterly WRONG statement of Mr tea. First of all I am the shipper of the shipment to Junkai and Victor Of Irwana in Singapore that made it to REEDBUILDERS and yesterday I have send again some C shepardi ( oeps, soryr Mr.tea false right) to Singapore. let me put it this way the "false "shepardi occurs on 50 meters depth at a certain place where NO SINGLE RUSTY ANGEL EVER HAS BEEN FOUND!!.Rusty Angels come from the TOTAL OTHER SIDE of this BIG Archipelago then our Shepardi which is more or less FACING across the seas GUAM indeeed! I have been no 37 years in the TRADE not a hobbyist like Mr Tea that knowledge comes from looking over and over on the internet only.Perhaps he is a big shot in Singapore , but nyo in my book!! I am a COLLECTOR ( collectinbg for the trade) and have been collecting now like I said 37 years!!. I have been importing C shepardi already from Guam 30 years ago!! while I still had beside my stations in the Red Sea and Kenya and Philippines a wholesale company in the Netherlands. If Mr. tea want to go to battle against my holding a PhD in ichthyology I would like to say LET's ROCK !! Thanking you all for your time, Johan www.spectacularmarinetreasures.com
