  1. Hi, Anyone know who is the distributor for Apex Neptune in Singapore? Thanks for the info.
  2. That's why the guy suggest to stir small area to avoid nitrate spike if never done before/ regularly. Anyway, im not sure how much it will benefit if we stir the DSB frequently.
  3. Bought it from the mfg in Bangkok. pm me if you wanted to know the price and the contact detail.
  4. Im using Ozone reactor from Si-am Ocean which comes with carbon chamber. Im not dare to risk my BK skimmer. Now the ORP increased to 255 this morning. I had 2 dead clown under the LR which impossible for me to remove. Probably that is the reason the ORP was so slow to increase.
  5. Thanks for the info. By the way how long does it takes for you to get the ORP to 400?
  6. Hi, Ive been using ozone in my tank which was connected to my skimmer for the last one week or so. The initial reading was 190 (before ozone supply). And now the reading is at 200. Is it normal for ORP to increase in such a low phase? im using a generator capacity 200mg/hr with air dryer. Comment and advice from reefers who are using ozone in their system are appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Why don’t the moderator come up with something similar to ebay. They post the percentage of positive feedback from the buyer. This can be done by asking the buyer to give feedback before closing the buy/sell thread. The positive feedback can be highlighted at the seller profile. I know this will take lots of time and effort of the moderator. Maybe we can compensate it by giving curtain percentage to moderator from each sales for highlighting the positive feedback from buyer. Off course not everyone willing to pay, so there will be no info available about that seller (so the buyer have to take higher risk to buy from that seller) . This will be a win-win situation for everyone. Just my 2 cent.
  8. Above is a simple drawing of what you are planning. No need any valve. Just connect the float switch to your feed pump power cord. When you do WC, just switch off the power to the pump. Hope it will helps you.
  9. Hi, Kalkwasser - German for "limewater," it is a highly concentrated solution of calcium hydroxide in water with a high pH of 12.00+ used to supplement calcium and maintain high pH levels in reef aquariums. The popular use of calcium hydroxide or Kalkwasser, probably did more to allow us to better keep SPS corals than just about any other advancement in reef keeping. The kalk reactor is a FR that will constantly stir the kalk, because kalkwasser is very hard to dissolves in water. The common method of dosing Kalkwasser is via water top-off. This was the reason why I have installed this in my system. As for the system you’ve planned, if you have space for the 80liter drum, then it will work fine. Note that you don’t have to use float switch (float valve will work fine and more reliable) if you are going to gravity feed, but consider to place the drum higher than the sump level. Or else you need a feed pump that is connected to the float switch in the sump (can’t use float valve). In this case you don’t need the on/off valve before the float switch because you can off the pump during w/c. Hope you understand what I mean. If not pls advice and I will try to put it in drawing.
  10. Hi, the system is running for the last six 5 month without any issue. I will try to take picture any if possible video and post soon. PS: you cant view the simple diagram in the above post? or you need a proper electrical diagram?
  11. Noted. But my RODI comes with high and low pressure switch which will control the booster pump. To make things simpler, I have connect the incoming water to a solenoid valve which in return controlled by the float switch. So far so good. Will update if there is flaw or need upgrade the system.
  12. The system is up and running without any major issues. I’ve added a secondary float switch (NORMALLY CLOSED)slightly lower than my sump overflow drain (refer diagram) to cutoff the inlet valve to avoid continues top off in case the primary float switch fail (Which will reduce the salinity of the water and bring disaster to the tank) My RO/DI comes with booster pump but I’m not sure how it will help in this system. Can you enlighten me on this? The only thing I’m concern with this is that the TDS reading at outlet is not zero at initial stage of the flow. Its take at least 2-3 min before I get 0 reading. Not sure it will affect the quality?
  13. Accidentely left it dry for few days and it is mulfuntion now. Where can I get the replacement probe in SG?
  14. Congrats Gary, Dint aspect the sps can grow so fast and color up nicely in such short period!!!! Keep it up!!
  15. Dear Reefers, I need some suggestion on my setup of auto top off (ATO). Due to limited space I can’t fit in the RO water storage tank under my DT, so I have came up with this setup as per in the drawing. Tap water flow is control by electrical solenoid valve (24V) which is connected to float switch. The valve will be activated (water will pass thru) when the water level at sump reduced via the float switch. Water will pass thru the RO filter and then to the Kalk reactor, and finally to the sump. Solenoid valve will off once water inside the sump is full via float switch. Hope to receive comments (pros and cons) on this setup before I implement it.
  16. Do you have any want to sell? how much. Please pm me.
  17. Very little information available about this schooling fish especially from reefers. Anyone willing to share thier experience with this fish in captivity? Im planning to add this fish in my tank. Thanks for your info.
  18. Anyone know which LFS has the subject product? Can pm me the price. TQ
  19. Hi, im planning to change the sand in my tank because the current sand creating massive cloudiness due to sand shifting fishes and the wave maker. It is so fine sand that it’s also scratching my DT glass. But Im confuse weather to use coral chip or bigger size live sand. What is the different between these both? What is the best brand available for value for money? My tank is both LPS and SPS dominated. Thank you for your feed back and advice.
  20. Im planning something like in this picture. I love this overhanging design. I don’t think the cable tie nor will the plastic screw hold the weight of the hanging rock.
