I bought some live rocks and like them because of the purple "algae" growing on them. With time, the purple "algae" seems to go off and my rock becomes normal grey tone. How does one keep the purple "algae" growing healthily?

i had a beautiful yellow tang in the tank over a year. Then i added a smaller size purple tang in. The yellow tang attacked the purple tang for a couple of days. The fins of the purple tang were torn and bitten off. Then the squabbles between the two became less aggressive. 12 months later the purple tang grew in strength and started attacking the yellow tang more aggresively. Not long thereafter, the yellow tang died.

my purple tang turned patch skin colour. then i started feeding it red bamboo and the colours gradually return. is red bamboo a necessary diet for purple tangs?

I mix the diet quite regularly. Different types of algaes, various mix of pellets, brine shrimps, frozen worms, etc

i have a water filtration system and the end product is higher in alkaline levels. The fishes are doing great.

i have used the Primz Hang On Filter for my 3 ft tank all this time. Does the job adequately.

i used to buy water direct from the fish farms to do my water change. There was 0nce after water change, a couple of my fishes died. For the past two years, i started buying salt and making my own salt water for change instead. There have been no problem ever since with the fishes.

i got one of those fish trap fm AquaMarin. Quite useful, throw food into it and the fishes will come into it then shut the side doors. Caught many fishes in my tank with it.

i broke my tank once when i was cleaning it and accidentally hit over a live rock that knocked against the glass. The glass broke and a large piece of it fell onto my feet n left a big gash. If tremors felt here is shaking your tank, look out for the rocks falling and breaking the glass.

Not toxic but i have spotted a Mantis Shrimp in my tank. Heard they can give a nasty snip to your fingers. Without having to remove all the live rocks, what is the best way to catch it?

I have had my blue tang n tomato clown for about 7 years now. Both stopped growing in size long ago with the Tang measuring 10cm n the Tomato at 5cm. Can they grow any bigger?

My tank seems to reflect greenish hue when i turn on the (white/ultra violet) lights. Without the lights, i do not see any green algae? Wondering where does the green hue come from?
