  1. Other SPS are encrusting fine. Colour is also ok. Only the few I cycled in blue has issue in growing. The polyp extension is also fine for them. In my past experience, if they are not growing after a few months, they will RTN one day.
  2. CA: 400 KH: 8.5 Salt: 1.025 PO4: <0.03 Uploading a larger photo. I circled the 3 frags that are growing very slowly. Even millepora is doing fine and I can see tangible growth.
  3. I got a small true optic fibre frag. It has been in my tank for about two months. It still looks the same size since day one. I bought another small little optic fibre frag and it is slowly RTN. The other SPS are growing fine. Is there any particular trace element that I miss out dosing? Currently I am dosing TLF A+B, strontium, trace elements, iron. Fauna marin colour elements, amino. Brightwell bac7. Thank you.
  4. Usual setup, calcium reactor + denitrator + cheato. No sand and big tank and sump but lots of space. SPS is growing healthily with nice polyps extension and colours. MH + T5s.
  5. Is 1/4HP sufficient to chill a 4x3x2 feet tank with sump?
  6. May I know where you guys get the aircon compressor itself?
  7. I see. I will try to feed them some frozen food today. I wonder how they last for 2 weeks with no food.
  8. My two sunburst anthias are not eating any pellets since I bought them two weeks ago. I am worried that they may not survive. They are swimming peacefully in the tank and not disturbed by any other tank mates. Any idea how to feed them?
  9. May I know if you ever considered using a calcium reactor?
  10. Tested again the water with Hanna Checkers CA: 396 KH: 8.8 The DD CA tester can be thrown already. Now the corals are growing and colour seems fine but I think people using a calcium reactor with little additive dosing tend to achieve better colours.
  11. Selling this rock of pink zoa. It is a bit big for my tank. (10cm length, 6cm height) $20. Collection at Serangoon. Interested please PM. Thank you.
  12. I visited one sps tank, 9 months no water change and a lot of sps and fishes are doing well and i bought a few frags. I am really tempted to try such setup.
  13. 1/10 is a bit under power for 3ft with sump. I used 1/10hp but changed to 1/4hp for my 2 feet cube. I think it is not advisable to have a high flow rate for the chiller. Maybe you can try 1000L/H. Inflow from sump and outflow to tank. When the chiller is working, do you feel the hot air outside the cooling fan? If it is not hot at all, then you need to service the unit.
  14. I started reading more and asking question here and there since June last year and bought my first set of equipments, but you know what? The skimmer&pump are the only equipments that I keep till now and the rest is actually quite wrong. I sold some off and donated some. I paid quite a large sum of school fee because of lack of patience to Google. I would suggest you to read about a few items about SPS before deciding what to buy or whether you should start now. Actually these are the things that I have been Googling. Anyway, they are quite interesting. T5 lights / MH light Skimmer / algae scrubber Dosing pumps / calcium reactor+PH controller+CO2 solenoid Wavemakers Chiller Biopellet / rowaphos / cheato / refugium Sump and piping design for space utilisation How supplements affect the colour
  15. I tried LED (Not Radeon) and the result is fairly poor for SPS. If you observe the senior reefers who keep SPS, all use MH and T5 and minimum T5. When we talk about T5, it is not the aquazonic type.
  16. Any good calcium reactor for recommendation? Deltec, vertex, reef octopus?
  17. I am getting the better test kits. I will update again. Thanks Jamie and kkk121 for the help along.
  18. Is it the soft tube or hard tube of LED? If it is hard (not bendable), I am keen. Thanks.
