  3. alo bera!!! hahahahaha.... u takan the LFS owner lah...hahaha... the most ridiculous one was not from any LFS owner but from a newbie... i was at a FW/SW shop, and the stupid owner told the newbie(rich guy, mid 30s, drive BMW one) that he can dump the fishes into his tank already, since the salt already dissolve overnight... i approached the guy and wanted to show him the address to our forum...he waved me off and told me to go away...as if i was some salesman...screw this stupid fella...hope tat he is now here and reading this!!!
  4. 25/boy doing my accountancy degree in SIM, can't make it into SMU accountancy or NTU accountancy, so settled for 3rd best (or should i say last choice available in Sing) reefing for 1yr and thus DIY for 1 yr too, just dismantled my 3ft tank in Nov, and wanted to start my 2ft cube...but my parents stopped me because a fengshui master say that its not good for my folks...hai.... currently still active in DIYing marine equipments, ranging from skimmers to FR to CR KR, anything i can do with acrylic, i will do (except tanks, better leave it to Ian).. *sound like advertisement... although, i quited (for the time being) reefing, i am still very closely knitted to this forum and some of the reefers, always meeting up for chit chat, kopi, beer etc..still frequent LFSes to admire all the nice gems...
  5. great stuff u have there!!! very very neutral review too...i bet u are super happy with the skimmer... skimmate is too dry already lah...raise the water level as recommended by the two deltec-gurus... hope to see more solid stuffs coming....
  6. the purple tonga mushie is really worth it...never seen them b4...not even on pics...
  7. whao!! that's a major upgrade!! germany products are well known for their quality...in terms of longevity and performance...look at eheim pumps, never fail after using for almost 5years after passing from one hand to another... if i'm not wrong red dragon also from germany, which pump is as efficient as red dragon?? none at the moment... if only japan start building skimmers, i bet it will be top notch too...
  8. ask joe loh...i bet he is more willing to help...
  9. certainly a deltec will be a MUCH MUCH better choice...as certified by our local experienced reefers...
  10. the spear ball valve is super expensive from wat i remember.... hhhmmm...secret operation...hope to hear good news!!
  11. AT has already answered in the most convincing manner...there's no BEST skimmer... buy something tat u feel is good enough for yourself and your tank...make it affordable (price and running cost)... as a DIYer myself, i feel that the best thing about DIYed products is that u can customise almost every single detail...but if u buy a reputed brand, eg: H&S / Deltec, i dun think they will make a customised set just for u to fit into your cabinet and sump...although certain BRANDS allow customising, its still very minimal... and not forgetting, if we are talking bout local DIYers, we can always count on customer service (to a certain extend)...
  12. must be damn cheap also!!! AquaZ also have budget-goodies...
  13. hope that they are not zoo-eating or monti-eating nudis...
  14. buy the korea instant noodle!!! dunno the brand leh... super nice and super spicy!!!
  15. i think leave it... the more u move it, the more stress it gets... i know it sounds silly...but tat's wat i always do...hahahaha...too lazy... if u are shifting it, shift it to an area with moderate flow and moderate light...
  16. check out my old tank thread.... no chiller and fully stock..but only LPS loh...didn't dare to try SPS....
  17. the best kept sump i've seen so far... i thought sump supposed to be for us to throw all equipments in?? william, u broke the rule...hahahhhaa...it looks more like a center piece now...
  18. Agree with RAV65...its still a proper job, although i find them irritating at times... not everybody is as rich / filthy rich as others...so pls dun critise other occupations..
