  1. Yeah I was there in the evening and saw quite a number of tiny BT at AM and a number of nice blue eyes anthias. Nearly couldnt reisist the blue eyes anthias In the end only bought what i was out for....... Skunk shrimp aka cleaner. There is still a number of good sized ones left.
  2. I had the same fright the other day when my perc clown is not eating. Also observed that there is nothing funny on its body and breathing is normal but its juz not eating. Only later than i realised that it is doing it bio activity (pang sai) Started eating again on my next feeding time.
  3. The key is patience in adding lifestock. I know its easy to say but hard to achieve. it is important to ensure that your existing population is coping well at least for 1-2 weeks before adding new ones.
  4. How about putting the LR in a bucket and pouring in boiling water. Im sure they will all be dead in 10mins given the high temperature
  5. I do it after 3 days as per the instructions stated. During this 3 days try to control feeding. Gd luck.
  6. To be honest I doubt a BT will survive in a 3 weeks old week even if cycling is complete. BT is very dedicate (not as hardy) and will be better off in a tank that is 6 months old or at least 3 months to be safer.
  7. Did that turn out to be edible in the end?
  8. Guess I better put it in a separate container to be safe.
  9. As above. Saw this morning that my Coco worm ejected from its tube and its body is now on my sandbed. Its most likely due to stress. What should be done now? I noted that it is still alive but will it survive?

  11. Care to share why LFS could be bringing in Royal Gamma soon? Been hunting for it to no avail.
  12. Sunburst Anthias spotted at Bio Ocean (Sponser) Didnt take note of the rest though
  13. That is very sad . I noticed that mine is not moving around as much as it used to as well. It is getting weaker and much thinner then when it first came. Is there any food that I can possibly entice it with?
  14. As above. I have a 2 spotted goby that has been with me for slightly more than 2 weeks now. I noticed that it is getting thinner. There are also no noticable wound on its body I also noticed that since day 1 it does not feed on the mysis, brine or cyclopeze that I feed. It is only eating the sand and pecking on the LR at times. Is this normal? Anyone can share their experience with this gobies?
  15. Biophos may be a cheaper and same effective option compared to Rowaphos as reviewed by some. I dont think UV can control diatoms. I am running a UV in my 2.5ft tank and it doesnt control diatoms.
  16. All, Experience a sudden nitrite spike yesterday after noticing one of my clown fish had a torn fin on his back. Went to measure the nitrite and found it to be at 0.2 level. Nitrite has always been at 0. The last time this was measured was 5days ago. Regular 20% water change has been done 3 days. Most recent addition was a hammer coral 2 days back and 2 out of its 5 branches appears to be dying. Could this be the cause of the spike? I noticed that the torn fin on the clown does not show that it is rotting and neither is it reddish in colour. Anyone has any advice what should be done? My Tank Details are as below. Tank: 2.5 * 1.5 * 1.5ft 2 * True Perc Clown 1 * Purple Fire goby 1 * 2 spotted goby 1 * Scooter Blenny (Lastest addition 1 week back) 2 * Fire Shrimp 1 * Cleaner Shrimp 1 * Pistol Shrimp 2 * ###### Shrimp Water parameters measured below NO2: 0.2 (Bioplast Test Kit) NO3: 0.1 (Bioplast Test Kit) Calcium: 540 (Salifert Test Kit) (bringing this down) DKH: 8 (Sera Test Kit) PH: 8.0 (Bioplast Test Kit) PO4: 0.25 (Salifert Test Kit)
  17. I kind of doubt lighting has anything to do with fishes changing colour.
  18. Looking good and the future is brighter All the best!
  19. You tank needs to be well established as well. Tangs especially blue tangs are known to be prone to white spots and ich. You may face problems getting them to feed initially as well. I saw some nice blue tangs at T95 this evening but managed to resist the temptation given my immature tank. Frequent rescaping (common in new tank) can also result in stress and these tangs do not cope very well with stress. I am not a tang expert as you can see but I did some reading as my ultimate aim is to keep a blue tang several months down the road.
  20. This is what we call the REEFKEEPING SYNDROME Highly addictive.
  21. FALL IN and ROLL CALL! I believe some species may survive better than the others without food for an extended duration. Of course not recommended but sometimes you dont have a choice.
  22. Quite true. My tank is still rather new (coming 3 months) so still experiencing new tank sydrome and algae bloom. It wont be another 3 months before I need to leave it for 2 days. By then my tank should be more stable and self sufficient in another way. Any other precautions or advice can anyone give me?
  23. Thanks for all your comments and valuable input. Looks like I can now proceed on a weekend getaway at greater ease. I am sure that my heart will be with them even when I am far away.
