  5. good decision to let go the emperor bro nice zoa ....where did you get them from?
  6. hi bro list of equipment looks good instead of the aquazonic, may also consider getting a led setup form pasar malam to get the natural shimmer effect...will be a joy to watch the fish & corals my 2 cents worth
  7. nice prata...our prata have the same colours medium to low light & not too much flow will get the prata to open more, weekly target feedings of Mysis will help too
  8. very nicely decorated house & tank indeed, wish I had the space to integrate my tank into the living room too nice LPS bro ...where did you get the corals from ?
  9. hi bro, welcome to this exciting hobby as I had tried to convert sumpless freshwater tank to marine before (tank crashed eventually), like to share my 2 cents worth: 1) no sump - you will need canister filter - can be very tedious / messy to service when you have salt water. & may become a pain to do weekly maintenance after the initial excitement died down 2) hang on skimmers - can be a challenge if you have bracing on your current fish tank 3) Aquazonic T5 was good enough for many LPS, no problem when I was keeping my prata, cynarina & torch Needs stronger lighting for more challenging corals 4) I am using the jebao Wp 25 now - so far so good, comes in different programmes too 5) Other eqpt - depending what you want to keep, may have to consider getting FRs as no refugium, but need to consider where to place these 6) test kits - if you are planning to keep LPS / SPS in future - bought many Salifert test kits (NO2/ NO3/ Calcium / Magneisum / KH / PO4) not to be discouraging, with so many equipment hanging around, it may disturb the beauty of a marine tank that we want to achieve. then will spend another big amount to upgrade - that's what happened to me. do think of the other option of getting a tank with sump. To keep in the 1.5k budget, you can look at the pasar malam section where reefers are selling their tanks / equipment.
  10. hi bro nice rock scape , looks like you are going for the valley concept. what corals are you planning to keep? welcome to this exciting hobby. like you, I am also quite new & also tried to convert a fresh water tank into a marine without sump. just to share - pls double check for any leakages (last thing you wanto is to come home to a soaped floor)

  12. thanks bro, nice trying very hard not to buy same here ...marine fishes are so nice & hard to resist my OC likes AT / flame angel very much ...must tahan don't go look look see see too often sure end up with 20 fishes soon roger, weekly 10% water change....now considering if I should add rowasphos to bring down the PO4 (currently running bio pellets)
  13. thanks bro This is my current fish stock. Not sure if the bioload is too high for my mixed reef tank (422): - lye tail anthias x 6 - purple queen x 1 - yellow tang x 1 - lawn mower blenny x 1 - banana wrasse x 1 - 6-line wrasse x 1 - exquisite x 1 - lineatus x 1 - blotchy anthia x 1 - red dragonet x 1 Total: 15 fishes

  18. Hi bro thanks for advice. I will do a water change this weekend and monitor the parameters again go the bi-colour prata from GO, its a beautiful piece and price was reasonable so bought it - that's was about 4mths back
  19. hi bros seek your advice - is RODI unit + salt mix a must / preferred way to keeping SPS can I just buy distilled water & add salt mix for water changes? OR can I still use NSW ( low mg / ca / kh ) & try to raise the parameters?
  20. Yup, tested water again yesterday. Mg is at 1350. still lower than ideal - l will have to get supplements to raise the parameters
  21. yes bro...I suspect I may gotten the test wrongly will check tonight again as the NSW shouldn't be this low
