  1. And thanks for the nice compliment Tang Sohal
  2. Too many space requirements for a bigger tank. I think nano tank can be maintained with overkill filters. I have 2 tunze comlink filters, one skimmer, one coralife uv sterilizer and a ecotech wave maker, carbon, bio pellets, biospheres, pura complete, pura filter pad and the water is good. Maybe due to over feeding , my fault, there is a trace of ammonia around 0.15. Other than that, hardly need water change as nitrate is near zero. For some unexplained reasons, bubble corals do very well but the hammer and torch keep dying. If I can turn back time will go for a smaller tank like the prototype I saw at Golden Octopus which is a 1 ft tank but done so well.
  3. I have a nano tank (2 ft) and placed the all in one biopellets in the Tunze Comline. That was about 2 weeks ago. I am not exactly impressed based on the water parameters but it may need more time.
  4. Dear Sirs Is any electric blue-legged hermit crab spotted? I need a small one to replace the one I lost which I treasured a lot. Appreciated!
  5. Dear Sea Cucumber, The Tunze skimmer is amazing. Like Apple, it just works. I have two Tunze filters. I have 3162 and 3163. Go for the 3163. I feel the 3162 is underpowered. If you open 3163, you will realize it has a Turbelle nanostream inside, possibly Model 6015. I replaced it with 6025 as I had a spare after purchasing the Vortech. So anyone interested in a 6015 let me know. I THINK it is a 6015 as it is the lowest powered Turbelle wavemaker.
  6. Added clam, prata, another bubble, zoas. live rock and a domino damselfish. The clam is now the center piece of the iTank. And the corals just love the Vortech MP10.
  7. New toy hehehe.. I got tired positioning my Tunze wavemaker pump as the sand keeps getting blown upwards. Did lots of DIY engineering. Even opened the Tunze filter box and took out the less powered wave pump (surprise surprise .. interchangeable parts in Tunze) and used as my wavemaker. The swap was successful but it was still stirring up sand. In the end, I decided to spurt some blood and get the VorTech pump MP10 Wireless. It works beautifully. The corals just "bloom". They just like the pulsating wavelets. And there is a LED-lighted dial and it is like a spaceship dial. Yeah! Take us out of the Space Dock. Full Speed Ahead. ENGAGE!!! (From Star Trek). And the Hyperdrive goes lightspeed... wahahahaha
  8. Dear Ashwin, thanks for the advice. I check the water quality quite dutifully and bought the ro/di from tunze but it did not work due to tap size I guess.yes, I blame Jackie the evil dark lord who infected me with this hobby haha. Next is a clam, zoes, one more bubble and it should be complete..that's what I said the last time! FOWLR and see what happened!
  9. Your advice is timely! I was careful to give some leeway but the corals are like sentient beings.. They stretch out to burn each other. One bubble was burnt but I separated them further apart. Thanks for the advice.
  10. This is how it looks now.. three more corals and it will fill the sand bed like a garden of the ocean :-)
  11. Thanks.. has been hunting online to see what is that.
  12. I have difficulty posting so if you see repeat post, just ignore them. Hammer, Torch and prata-like coral added.
  13. I have been using Bio-sphere. It works. Will want to try putting into the skimmer. As I use a Tunze skimmer, will have to figure out where to place the bio-sphere.
  14. Got the chiller. So I bought a torch and a hammer. The third is a prata like coral which I am not sure what is that. Going to add a bubble coral and some fun stuff.
  15. My current chiller brings the temp to 27. Will give it a shot!
  16. Thanks to equipment addiction, I have gotten an Arctica chiller (thanks bro!!!). I had a near disaster when I added a green anemone (against the advice of my two aquarist Sifu). For unknown reasons, the yellow tang, blue tang, 2 cleaner shrimps were wiped out. Only the fire shrimps and the two clowns survived. I had to remove the anemone. The photo is the new replacement. Ok, anemone is BAD. However, I am still hoping to get an alternative coral in which the clowns can symbiote with it. Carpet anemone (i read) is just as bad. As my tank is small, I cant increase the bio-load. Any advice?
  17. The Tang eats everything - purple nori (seaweed), Hikari mysis shrimps and Crab Cuisine. And it nibbles the live rock non-stop. I think I should alternate-day feed it.
