  1. Just bought these two pumps from a reefer but found not suitable for use on my beckett skimmer. So selling them off again. Weipro 4000l/hr Atman 6500l/hr Selling both for $40. Interested pls pm me. Eric
  2. I also want to order 30 pcs pls...............no hurry, just keep me informed once you have the stocks ready. Eric
  3. Welcome to Singapore................
  4. I seriously doubt the atman 5500l/hr has enough pressure to push water through the beckett nozzle and suck enough AIR. You might want to reconsider the skimmer pump option. A stronger pressure rated external pump might help you cut down some heat and run your beckett more effectively. I seriously think your main heat load factor is contributed mainly by your 2 x 250W MH. You might wan to consider raising your 250W MH at least 10inches away from the water surfaces if its lower than that. A couple of fans blowing the space between the MH and water surfaces will also help in reducing overall heat contribution. Running the MH at different time intervals will help in reducing the chiller load too. Test around with your chiller pump flow to get the optimum chilling efficiency. Too high flow might cause insufficent heat exchange between the water and the refrigerant. Too low flow will not be able to cool down your tank fast enough. Eric
  5. My most important items.......... 1) Flow - sufficent internal circulation flow to suspend the detritus, protiens to carry down to your sump and also to bring oxygen to your LS. 2)Chiller - Temp. is very crucial to the marine LS. You can use evaporation and topping up method for tank cooling purposes but be prepared to be diligent in the maintainence of water parameters stabilities eg. Salinity,DKH,Calcium......etc (any slight changes will stress your LS easily) 3)Skimmer - An effective skimmer is a great tool to help you maintain a low nutrients tank or alternatively you could have a huge matured refugium. 4)Lights - Depending on the depth of your tank and what LS you intend to keep. 6. Battling bryopsis algaes has been my greatest challenge in reefing so far........but at last I'm winning the battle.............below are the things i have done for the past 3 months. 1)First manually removed watever algaes you have access to 2)Then make sure u use only DI water for top up or water change (I use NSW) 3)Add in 4kg of phosphate removal like biophos, rowaphos or phosban.........i personally using phosban cos I got it in big quantity at a cheap deal. 4)Reduce lightings period by 1-2hrs 5)Employ 10-20 more snails, a yellow or kole tang or fox face, add in a seahare if u can find one. 6)Reduce feeding to once every 3 days at small quantity each time. 7)Do a 20% water change every week 8)Tune skimmer to wet mode and add in a ozone generator. ..............the whole process will take abt 2 months-4 months before the hair, bryopsis algaes will show signs of dying off.............good luck! Satisfaction guaranteed if you succeed!!!
  7. Help guys, Recent power shock had cost my tunze stream TS7 to mulfunction. Upon checking found there's no power supply to the controller box. Suspect this black box (I think should be a power convertor or something) might be faulty and not supply the power to the Tunze controller. Anyone knows where I can buy this "black box" separately? OR Where I can bring my Tunze down for repair? Sorry for the big pic......... Eric
  8. Direct your skimmer pump nearer to the surface of the water to remove the excessive "protiens". Your nutrients level will drop drastically too.
  9. Proper acclimatization and iodine dosing.
  10. get a few peppermint shrimps to help you guard against these pests............before they start multipling like nobody's biz. eric
  11. No3 r taken care by the ozone and skimmer and live rocks and matured dsb.........so be no issue if feeding is in small quantities. Eric
  12. I dump in 4L of Rowa phos into my sump baffle plates to solve my phosphate problems:) Very effective.......I dont use FR.
  13. TS7 + 2 x 6080 aiming at each other .................this should give u enough flow for ur 4x2x2.5ft.
  14. If you are serious abt this hobby, save up and go straight for a ts7 tunze stream with pulsing mode for water circulation purposes. I learn through the hard way................but now no regrets with a pulsing stream. The normal tunze stream like 6060 and 6080 will give u dead spots and accumulation of detritus at those areas. A pulsing 6100 will help keep the detritus in suspends and eventually get sweep down the overflow. For turnover rate, go for a eheim 1262 or 1260 and run it through ur chiller back to the main tank for reliable operation. and another cheaper return pump for the addtional turnover rate, how much flow will depend on what corals you want to keep. Hope i answer ur questions. Eric
  15. Anyone knows where I can get the Atlantic blue tang and roughly what's the price like? Saw it at PR balestier main tank and immediately fall in love with it. Eric
  16. Sorry guys for all the commotion caused becos of my problems. So far the colonies and frags are still doing fine except no extension in the day time. Night time everything is normal. And there is still noticable growth on it. I have temporary found a third solution. I'm trying out feeding the angels with flakes more often but in small quantities. By keeping the angels full, I notice they tend not to aim for the polyps so often. If this method can reduce the stress of the sps, maybe I'll just set up a auto feeder to minimise the problem. But will probably have to go double dosage on the rowa phos to reduce phosphate and tune the beckett for wet mode and ozone higher for nutrients export cause by the extra feedings. Will keep you guys updated on the progress. Thx for all the ideas and feedbacks................. Damn, I luv my angels.........
  17. opps, too late.............hope my two pest angels get the infection.
  18. But the thing is no polyp extension but still growing and colours still maintain.......that' wat puzzled me. I expected STN within few days time from harressment but it did not and still growing. Very strange. Now back to the question, is it a must for sps to survive without polyp extension? Can't trap the angels........no room to even put the trap box in. Unless use last resort, trip the power supply and suffocate them. Other LS might be sacrifices as well but I know the corals can take it. Found out from the last 4hrs power trip.
  19. hi guys, Jut sharing some information and would like to find out if anyone have the same experiences. After putting in a pair of beautiful flame angels, both started nipping my sps polyps during the day time causing all the sps esp. millis to stop having polyp extension in the day. Night time the polyps still come out but not as long as before. Two strange things I observe from this for the past 1 month. 1) There is no impact on the sps growth and colours despite the loss of polyps extension during the day time and so far only the 1 frag did not survive the torture and stn. The rest of the colonies are ok. 2) The angels seems to be not bothering the staghorns. Q: Can the sps survive without polyps extension? Eric
  20. Just a question to the ozone experts..........just got my orp controller and was surprise with the result. Only 156mv without the use of ozone. So dirty my water. After plugging the ozone, the orp raised from 156mv to 390mv in 4hrs time. I set the orp controller to cut off the ozone at 405mv. My beckett is skimming like hell for the past 12hrs. Q: Is it ok to maintain the ORP at 450mv? or is 400mv already very good.
  21. Told you the XM10K is good right??? The growth and colours are more natural and it can be use without actinics supplement, unlike the blv 10k abit yellowish, needs actinic support. But i still use 1 white and 1 blue T5 lah, to help cover some shaded areas at the front and back cos my single 250W reflector can't cover every spots. I see your tank still very empty, time to stock up man! Fill all the top with sps and btm with lps. Time to burn a hole in the pocket.
  22. Still selling ??? Wah months already..........must be the prices not right.
  23. Interested in a small frag...........pls pm me on price and where to collect. Thx! Eric
  24. formula 2 flakes..............luv them! Oh ya, forgot............they also luv my sps polyps!!! But just luv my two paired flame angels too much, decided to give up sps for it. Lucky it doesnt bother my LPS, else will become FOWLR. Eric
