  1. Thanks Chris for sharing the info. save a trip all the way there and end up returning empty handed. yes so was it postpone? ... I am looking for X'mas present for my tank and my kids ...
  2. thank you. will try going there this Saturday to check out the SPS shipment, but not sure what time to go is better...
  3. Where is this LCK? is it the 110 LCK that reefer mentioned? can someone tell me how to go there by driving please. thanks!
  4. May i ask your chiller consumes 75watts, this is calculated based on 1/10 of 746 har? understand 1/10 HP (75watts) is the compressor power consumption, how about the cooling fan motor power consumption ? wanted to find out the total cooling power consumption before considering.. CHEERS!
  5. Hi all ... thank you for your feedback and share of views. I have finally made a decision to go for 185/60/R14 - Yokohama ES500. To my surprise, both the 185/60/R14 (Yoko) and the 175/65/R14 (Original tyres) are of the same height ! although they are of different profile. Was told by the shop owner original tyres tend to be smaller, even though having profile 65. As for the Yoko tyres ... its rather quiet compare to my original tyres. Fuel comsumption wise will have to monitor after my next full tank refill.. CHEERS! Rocks
  6. if you are concern about back flow, try using check valve to prevent back flow when power trip. I have mine installed just after the return pump, it once prevented a over flow when my power tripped while I am not at home. CHEERS!
  7. thanks. i thought i saw Kent Marine has a product call Kent Coral-Vite is the same... ... i guess i am wrong. OK.. me go look out for salifert amino acid see what is the price. CHEERS!
  8. thanks ! anyone else got recommendation? how about CV?
  9. Hi Can someone introduce / recommend a good brand for the following that is available in local LFS? (1) Amino acids (2) Coral Vitalizer I heard CV might not be available in local lfs, how about alternative for CV? Thank you for feedback and sharing !! CHEERS!
  10. any nice SPS in Harlequin, Reborn or PR? Thinking of going down to these 3 places later after work if there are any SPS..
  11. I am just trying to help another fellow reefer just like others helped me when i was in doubt and looking for answer here.. Yes.. a control valve is needed.. CHEERS!
  12. Yes a durso pipe is the best solution as i am using one myself. Hope you achieved your goal.
  13. I am not good in describing my suggested solution, hence the below pic. You can use a ball valve at the sump to control the water level in the overflow.. basically the pic below redirect the tank's water to the bottom of the pipe entering the sump. hope this suggestion work for you.. I guess you need to trail and error the number of holes you need to drill at the bottom of the pipe.. CHEERS! Rocks
  14. I have seen a square 3 footer tank with a centre "cylinder" overflow some 2 years back when I was looking for tank maker but i can't remember the name of the shop. (something like rainbow xxxx ... can't remember liao). I think the centred round overflow look very nice, I believe the overflow is made from acrylic tube... CHEERS!
  15. looking for blue or purple digitata or staghorn.. anyone spotted in LFS? PR? Reborn? anywhere that i can find?
  16. nice DIY you have there, i think it is neat and workable my worthless comments are: (As mentioned above) you might want to take note of the pump that mix the kalk & fresh water, I think regular maintenance might be needed. My understanding is that your kalk top up is calculated based on tank water loss (evaporation + skimming rate) daily to derive the speed of the dosing pump, do take note on the total tank water loss, cos' evaporation might be also affected by other factors (wheather, equipment's heat, less/more skimming due to feeding, etc, etc) so you might not have a constant 2 litres at times and if kalk top up is contantly at 2 litres, over time maybe your SG might be effected? I think the orange value is reduntant, the outflow tube from your kalk reactor should take care of the air. I have just started to use a kalk reactor & the air is being 'pushed' out of the reactor chamber from the outflow tube to the sump tank so i think you can less the value for your next version. overall, good work on your DIY ... if only i am as good a DIYer as you, I will also try to do a kalk reactor myself...
  17. just saw on channel U talking about wine... there are 2 places mentioed. WineRoom at Grassroot Club, and AustWine .... where is AustWine located? anyone know? CHEERS!
  18. Acura007 agreed. so no intention to change rim and pay the extra. might as well spend the extra cash on a good CR .. Will find out about Yoko ES501 price later. my company is giving all staff 20% off on all tyres. so see whether cheaper or not. if 175 to 185, petrol down by most 2km/L.. then almost my 2 days traveling liao.. Diablos thanks for the recommendation. I should be passing by AMK this weekend, might check them out. AvaNte one of the workshop uncle told me continental are made in malaysia. (maybe local continental tyres have import from diff country?).

  20. Was given price quote for this tyre Yokohama A500 (185/60/R14) not sure whether a good brand/model or not... anyone got feedback. CHEERS!
  21. not a sporty car... a little paisay to mention.. anyway, manual Honda City 1.5 iDSi
  22. point taken. If 185 take more fuel than 175 i guess shouldn't be that much increase wa.. my car now going at ave 15km/litre so if change to 175 hope it can stay on the high side of 14km.
  23. I would prefer low noise, safe and help save fuel, sporty or not doesn't matter to me..
  24. Thanks for your feedback also... err ... i didn't register any car forum mah... and here got a kopi-tiam so try asking lor. Me a normal car driver so if different width concern petrol then my eyes big big liao... save $$ is my first priority.. how come low profile is heavier? because of more friction due to more road contact?
  25. Thank you. appreciate the feedback. Deciding between (185/60/R14) Yokohama or Bridgestone. Bridgestone GR80 (185/60/R14) - $76.70 each Yokohama - $77.50 each .....
