I also had this problem when I convert to sump. But I took the risk of changing 40% of the water I connect the sump to the main tank. I used NSW from Iwarna. Caused no problem and has also convert to using NSW til now.

Actually I using a DIY coil denitrator with it but I tink as long as ur live rock is enough, there shdnt be a problem with nitrite. So get more LR, abt 20kg should b enough for 2 ft.)

I am also keeping a 2 ft tank. Used to be using a cannister but the nitrate kept on shooting very high. Finally I remove the canister and using a sump now. I had also remove all the coral chips and rings in the sump step by step. IMO, sump makes water change very easy and with higher water volume, more fish can be kept. If u tink a sump is ex, DIY one, will change u less than $50 if u got a tank already for the sump.

And ur tank wont crash becos of the shrimp...it wont have a chance to decay if ur have enough scavengers like crabs around ...ur fish will also eat it if they have access to it. I would noe...cos 5 CS die in my 2 ft tank before .

Hi, need some advice from anemones keepers. I currently has a Green BTA in my 2 ft tank and planning to add a small RBTA. Isit advisable to do so? I mean will they have any chemical warfare? My green BTA always stay at one corner and I am planning to put the RBTA at the other corner. Assuming that they dont move . Thanks in advance .

Think u shd test ur parameter first then decide whether to decrease the flowrate or not. Every situation difference.
