  1. thanks melvyn nice regal u got Alfa hmmm... my tank got so many angels but no regal, can only admire ppl regal
  2. the skimate quantity & colour is not important bro. Any skimmer will able to produce skimate. Is the skimmer undersize of underperform? check the water will know.
  3. bro, if u r not really familar with the equipment is ok, take ur time to do research. Wat is more important for you now is to comprehend the nitrogen cycle, testing water parameters. Frequent water change is a must for u to maintain water quality in such heavy loaded tank. Min requirement, no trace of ammonia & nitrite. My tank also over loaded with fishes, 32 r angels out of abt 60 fishes in my 6ft tank. I've 2 upgrad my skimmer in order to maintain ideal water condition for my fishes, smaller skimmer (8"X30" beckett) can't cater to my needs, personally experienced it. I'm sure your Via Aqua multi skimmer can't cope as well. Here is my thread on my new RM dual becketts, kinda big, but it can cater to my needs and make my fishes happy. RM 8"X60" dual becketts
  4. If u get 15 YT in s'pore, that will save u $1260, enough to cover the air ticket
  5. For smaller tank, needlewheel will be good coz smaller footprint & can hide inside sump. I would recommend H&S 110 or Deltec AP600, u will nvr regret. Should be around $600. Someone is doing a review on the new Tunze 9010, rather impressive, u can consider this cheaper option. Melvyn got 2 H&S skimmers, u may check with this H&S man on the product
  6. Think u r using Via Aqua multi skimmer with built in UV, not very efficient imho.... Strongly urge u to upgrade for better wan. Bro, I'm worried your water already started to foul &.... Pls, stop introducing new fishes for the time being and check the water. U need to test and monitor ur PH, amonia & nitrite asap. With such high bio load & mediocre skimmer, I rather sure u are able to detect traces of amonia & nitrite building up which is very toxic for the fishes. If no corrective action taken, u can say bye bye to those beautiful angels, soon.... Quickly go & get urself the test kits 2day, shoo shoo.....
  7. just received a letter from citibank, gona revise loan interest to 4.1% on Jan Want to look for better rate to refinance liao. Which bank offer the best rate ya?? thanks

  10. I guess there are couple of reasons for my tank require low water top up. Generally, the heat load for my tank is low, I specifically bought low power consumption pump and wave maker. As for lighting, I'm still using FL, lower heat load. My house is very well ventilated with full height windows. The temp was set at 29.5 with 0.2 delta. The 4 fans is able to pull down 0.2 deg within 20 mins or even shorter during cooler weather. I'm sure if the fans are running 24hrs, alot of water will be evaporated. I top up 1 small bucket of water in the morning & 1 at night, thats it.
  11. nice eyelashes in ur avatar urgh!! disgusting guy, wana puke

  15. I'm not an electrician, learn abit here & there through diy projects. I would like 2 voice up my views on the usage of MCB for household. I views maybe wrong.... The main purpose of the MCB is to protect against overloading, to break the circuit if it draw above the rated current. It will protect the load & prevent unnecessary fire if right MCB rating was used correctly. The cable rating must match or higher rated than the MCB. If not, cable already burn due to high amp, but MCB still not trip due to current drawn still below the MCB rating. Most of the extension socket rated at 13A. As such, I would prefer to go for 10A MCB. This will ensure the MCB will trip before the extension socket got chance to get heated up. If use 20A MCB, i know the 13A fuse in the 3 pins plug will blow when overloaded, seem quite safe. But the tolerance for fuse is rather great, may differ by a couple of amps and usually those extension socket don't rate the cable rating..... If I'm going to run 8 wall sockets for my fish tank, I would use 2 X 10A MCBs. 4 wall sockets per MCB. Bery kiasu, but rather be safe than sorry... just my 2 cents Any electrician here that can enlighten me on this...... thanks
  16. U can touch base with coralfarm, good quality fishes coralfram
  17. Is it quieter than conventional aquarium AC fan? It will be more effective for fan to blow across a larger surface area than spot, maybe u can try 2 c got any different.
  18. may I know the 18 sockets are connected to how many MCB?
